That's a pretty cool feathery effect, gllt, how'd you do that?
More fun with filters, maybe a bit slicker than the last one.

I'm about to sound way too serious for this thread now.... Lincoln is indeed iconified as being something greater than he was. He may have abolished slavery (in perhaps the least efficient way), but he was no champion of equity as he did not favor a desegregated society or giving blacks voting right...

I see where you're coming from, but I like having it separate. Like how we have mute and audio volume separate. Sure we can merge these things, but they're functions intended for different purposes: That's why I suggested giving each speed its own hotkey, and notice where 0 is relative to 12345, an...

I agree the ladder is annoying. If I had support for modifier keys, that'd be awesome to do Shift+1-5. Since I don't, I didn't want to tie up five keys for that. Especially the ones most emulators use to toggle BG layers (a hangover from the days when SNES layer priorities weren't well understood.)...

Yes, savestates are better than tediously saving and typing in a password. Also, I don't know how long a game is going to be. If I have to go somewhere before I finish, taking a savestate is better than leaving my computer on all night. Or maybe I just can't pass a certain stage and it's pissing me ...

You could try using a notification box when a driver setting is changed. I'd suggest putting it in documentation, but it wouldn't fit in your categories. I could finish a lot of games to the end only with savestates, not with cheats. There are situations, where cheats don't help. Savestates can make...

If he wants to post it here, I don't mind. Kind of curious how he managed to state machine all ~150kb of relevant code -- it's incredibly monotonous making those things. But I really don't want to see it end up on every emulator site ala Snes9X forks if at all possible. If he posts it here, it will...

That's pretty much an exact replica now. Very nice. I'm in agreement with byuu in that the US controller sucks ass. I like to pretend the Euro controller is the official SNES one ;) :'( He's right, you know. The American SNES was just a god-awful design, probably gave away at least a million sales t...

I think the point is, whether or not many games used it, it's something that the SNES could do, and something that all emulators fail to do now. A behavior of the core system that has not been emulated yet. what game in particular are you dying to play on bsnes that you can't already play on anothe...

You can't check each game from beginning to the end. The premise behind testing every game five minutes was rooted in the observation that most games show you their entire hand of cards in first five minutes. In most cases, game progression brings more changes in scenery than in behavior. There are...

I'm not suggesting never address it, I'm suggesting to address it after larger, known software malfunctions.creaothceann wrote:There might be other games out there using that specific feature, and we just haven't got a bug report about it yet. Fixing it bug is more about peace of mind than practical use, I guess.

An improvement to the base is an improvement to all games, even if you can't perceive the difference. An improvement to the SuperFX is an improvement to ten games. Those focused on a hardware emulator are more interested in the former, those focused on a game cartridge emulator moreso the latter. H...

A dot-based PPU will have no known tangible benefit on the gaming experience. The GUI does, the special chips do, peripherals do, the the BS-X does, the Super Gameboy does. I wouldn't understand if it got a higher priority than any of these and I'll state why. Byuu's rationalization is that external...
