I have a bug report:

World Cup USA 94
*bouncing ball on language select screen goes transparent on the top flags. (might happen on HW but can't test)
*field graphics are all jumbled up. (really doubt this happens on real HW)

And how many people are like you and have a sibling sharing their PC and both want to play a 16-year-old gaming console emulator so frequently that it's a hassle to have their settings overwritten by each other? :P I'm teasing, of course. Wow, you understand my argument after all, although he doesn...

How about just continuously offer a model for $100 more that includes PS2 hardware? Seems like an obvious move to me, but they'd rather peck away on things people REALLY don't care about, like Home.

Of course, sometimes, there are intentionally bad sectors for security measures. Or specially formulated subchannel data. Yep, I have a few correctly dumped PSX images that yield "bad sector" results in tools that scan for such things. Yet a commercial SNES game should always have a good ...

It gives end users the ability to play their real cartridges. Those carts may already have their level 99 New Game+ saves, SRAM data can be dumped from a cart you own with a usb programmer. or they may be paranoid about the validity of the unverified dumps on the net. ROM data can be dumped from a ...

That blaming a stylized GUI for a COMMON design failure is disingenuous. It's not a design failure, it's a design limitation. A 256x224 resolution window doesn't offer enough space to show long strings of text without putting scrollbars everywhere, and the scrollbars eat space themselves. What is t...

Hardly unique to low-res custom GUIs. Yeah, and those are annoying, too. What's your point? I suppose you could eliminate the useless options in the load screen to free up a line for wrapping the text around instead of cutting it off. Even if you did that, though, you're still clicking on everythin...

Play a game and you won't see the interface. Frankly, why care what it looks like anyway, so long as it functions properly. There are some genuinely annoying drawbacks about this type of GUI, let's not be blinded by retro manlove. - There's generally just not much room to display any long strings o...

Back in the day?... I only ever heard about it about two years ago, and I started with VSMC & Snes96 :S

what's wrong with SnesGT???
-No cheat system
-No gamma correction
-No justifier support
-Some games are buggy
-Menu and config lack refinement

Otherwise, it's not too bad. I used it a ton back in the day.

Maybe, but he expressed desire for a generic cart, so I didn't think it mattered.

Why is it byuu's problem, Deathlike? The guy could be stomping on someone else's yard with a megaphone, and he'd claim he was being censored while being dragged into the squad car. He mocks people's efforts (repeatedly) and his demands aren't rational.

If only zsnes actually could "play the games" without issue, but a myriad of games are unplayable and pushing 60fps on a 486 won't help you one iota.

Right, but then he's dicking with someone else's $40 property to save $5. There's also the possibility that a problem is found well after he's sent it back to you, and he won't have it to run tests on anymore.

I've tested a lot of troublemakers after the opcode rewrite, as I'm sure you have. Seems fine, but I'll still want to retest the whole library again at some point, maybe a year from now.

Blizzard is just too busy saving the world (of warcraft) to care about their backcatalog. There is a slight advantage to having larger view distances, but that could be a rule enforced for formal competition. It a good thing for anything else.

Updating the games for sake of doing so is not profitable. You would have to at least find creative ways (usually hires artwork) and/or new features to reasonably entice gamers. Let's see: (a) audio that wasn't downgraded because of media constraints (b) bigger resolutions / draw areas (c) guarante...
