that guy who took over was some kind of maniacal sadist about purified emulation and having everything like the original SNES console... even if it made things broken as crap stinks. You do realise that Zsnes does the same, right? They've pretty much gotten rid of all the hacks lately, leaving some...

... Crono picture on the right side though, looks DBZ-ish and a little misleading. Well, Akira Toriyama is the man behind both the character designs for Chrono Trigger and DBZ. I know, hence why it is "misleading." You see, for a minute there I could not even tell it was Crono.. (If it ha...

I wouldn't blame it on them. You make changes, code moves around. They'd have to go out of their way to make a new version work with the Game Genie, and why would they go nuts for such a thing? And if you were thinking, hey maybe they only made a new version so they can move code around, not true, ...

It is honestly quite a fruitless effort to emulate the Game Genie in the sense you're talking about.. As it stands now, the error you mentioned was on your own part anyway. A key-binding to turn on and off current codes is a justifiable request in my opinion, but going to unnecessary lengths to emul...

its because thats what i officialy own on a real snes and id like to play it the exact same way as i do on the real snes (and yes i know its slower by 10 fps approx.) I highly, highly doubt that you'll notice any significant difference between them.. And there are plenty of people on this board who...

Your request is a little overly complicated. To simplify it, you should have just said "How about a hotkey that toggles current GG\AR codes on and off?" Which is basically what it boils down to.. And not a bad request either. But I've never needed to do this, and for all I know, something ...

Nice logo, very nice. Not sure about the Crono picture on the right side though, looks DBZ-ish and a little misleading. Maybe something else, like the Mario and Sonic mascots together, or well.. anything else really. On another note.. I am tempted to ask for a position as news poster. I am a pretty ...

Very glad to see it officially open, and very good work so far.. A little tempting to go back to ROM hacking with this news, too. On an unrelated note. The banner to the site seems a bit.. hmm, eh? It is the least important aspect of the whole site I know, but it just isn't a real eye-catcher. Might...

Saying "zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator)" is a common mistake. It just sounds more natural than "ZSNES", that's all. It does? How so? The Z isn't meant to be a cute twist on the S of "SNES." It has an entirely different meaning, and as such ...

I would assume from looking at that screenshot that it's a lighting effect.. Sort of giving a bit of realism to flickering candles in a dark castle, or some such.

Of course, it has been ages since I played the original so I don't know.. But that is certainly what it looks like to me.

This has been around a long time, I remember seeing it from waaay back, though I never reported it or attempted to play through the game very far. I actually am a bit surprised with all the progress since then that this wasn't fixed, but eh.. Maybe it's something obscure.

All in good time, I suppose.

This should be a breeze to implement, just add a couple of variables to the config file. Whoops! You just said the wrong thing. Never, ever assume how easy/hard it is to add something to ZSNES. If it's such a breeze, you're welcome to add it yourself, as ZSNES is open-source. You're right, but his ...

We need a new slogan: ZSNES: the SNES emulator that is not spelled zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator). ... Anyway, it is somewhat subjective, but go with 32000 Hz for the sampling rate, and set Interpolation and Low pass to whatever you think is best. The bottom options ar...

It's not like that's new though, they did the same thing with the Super Gameboy. I don't think too many people would buy a standalone, at home version of a handheld console. I dunno.. If someone is willing to buy the add-on device to begin with, they'd probably be willing to buy it if it was it's o...

Interkleaving means that the data on the ROM is scrambled. The data needs to be de-interleaved before (Z)SNES can work with the data. Some copiers interlave the data by default AFAIK. For example: normal data (in order): 0,1,2,3,4,5,... Interleaved data: 2,4,5,1,0,... I'm sure Nach can nach and oth...

It all just breaks down to cold hard morals, and nothnig else. "Right" and "Wrong" is all in your mind really, since there is zero chance anyone is going to turn you into the cops for it. (I'd be surprised if they understood the situation\cared as well. Though it would vary.) Do ...

How hard would it be to put in an auto-deinterlaver (sp?) in ZSNES? While I cannot directly answer this question.. I don't really see a need for it either. ZSNES shouldn't be responsible for it, honestly.. Yes, some people are ignorant, plain old stupid, or just lazy about the problem, but none of ...

To my understanding.. Rewind works by ZSNES quietly taking savestates in the background every few intervals. When you hit the rewind key, it jumps to the last savestate it took. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, which if so.. one could ignore the rest below.) Because of this.. It's not too odd for r...

Actually the adapters range about $9-12 USD. And since I already own the controllers for my PS2, I end up saving money that way. Besides, I really couldn't care less about the vibration feature, it's not at all a big deal to me really, not enough games I play on the PC even have support for it. What...

The problem with the vibration thing is that it is difficult to impliment from what I understand, and it was never actually part of an snes.
