To clarify: "Legal" ROMs = "homebrew" ROMs

Another site is www.pdroms.com

Be sure to warn users that there isn't much good SNES homebrew going on out there, though.

Question: What exactly is the LAME bug that was mentioned in the very first post? Is the symptom audio that sounds like static? If so, I'm not really sure that it's a LAME bug, since dumping un compressed audio seems to produce invalid WAV files (WMP complains about a missing "Microsoft PCM For...

@xamenus: Oops, I kind of thanked you prematurely - that didn't work (because there's no make.exe in the src folder?)
@Clements: I will try that ASAP.
Thanks to both of you.

The BIOS is probably supposed to control screen stretching if the video driver isn't there to do the job (as during the boot sequence). I noticed this after a technician repaired the fan on my Inspiron 8200 and bumped the BIOS battery(?) doing so, but the Inspiron 8200 doesn't provide for screen str...

Smoothness can also mean rounded corners (hint, hint).

Non-D modes don't support hi-res SNES modes - that's the catch.

super mario RPG is fully playable and viewable. It is? The SA-1 emulation is seriously in flux right now, and when the work is done it will be S - L - O - W. Right? BTW, my vote went to MinGW/zget because zget makes it a lot easier for users to get the most updated version possible. (I know I shoul...

Okay, here's the update I promised: The problem still occurs in the SVN that I compiled this morning with the aid of ZGet. NSRT info is as follows (any ROM is potentially affected): NSRT v3.3 - Nach's SNES ROM Tools ---------------------Internal ROM Info---------------------- File: Super Mario World...

Improper handling of corrupt .cht files

I discovered that my previous "Yoshi's Cookie causes unexpected exit" problem was actually caused by a zero-length .cht file. I have no idea how the .cht file became zero-length in the first place (probably corruption by another emulator, maybe Super Sleuth). Deleting the config files appe...

I remember seeing something like that (in WIP 05/27 on Windows), though resetting the game appears to fix the problem.

Is anyone else having this problem? I'd like to get some confirmations before posting a formal bug report or letting others do so.

Feature Request: Adjustable LAME parameters in movie dumping

I'm sure that a lot of people like me don't do any significant distribution of their SNES recordings over the Internet, so they would like to have support for compressed audio that is of higher quality than what ZSNES is doing now (see the LAME parameters shown in http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewt...

I don't think so. Would you like to make this a real feature request (i.e., should we have a serious discussion about this)?

Re: Final Fantasy 6 intro bug

In the May 14 WIP (Linux/SDL, compiled from CVS snapshot on ipher's site), there is a problem with the intro sequence in FF6. The cloud background with lightning stops and starts instead of scrolling smoothly upward. Tested with FF6 (Japan) and FFIII (US 1.1), both verified good ROMs with no patche...

Yoshi's Cookie causes unexpected exit [Solved]

See title. The "unexpected exit" does not produce any error message from Windows. I tried loading the game both from the recent-files list and from the Open dialog box. The NTSC filter doesn't make a difference to this behavior. I am using ZSNES WIP 03/29, and I think the problem is new to...
