@The Dumper: Hello Good Sir. Did you send my SA-1 carts back? Altho it's not of high priority to me, I'm just asking to make sure the carts weren't lost.
Thanks for reminding me. I'll get them back soon.

I have to agree with d4s about the viability of emulating these things. I'd honestly rather work on things like the Super System or whatever, that there's all of zero public information about. It probably doesn't run in bsnes because of the additional hardware. Nonetheless, I'll play around with th...

I dug out a saved post from Neviksti on CR (RIP) and found his original link to the Star Ocean Game Doctor SF7 version.

You can get the goodness here:

I think if you want the untranslated version it is http://home.cwru.edu/~kam17/SF96son.rar

Ok, well just for the sake of completion, I went ahead and traced the other two options in your combo NP ROM. That's the spirit! Thanks byuu, that's how we make progress. First, there are only two unmapped register accesses, $2400 and $2401. Both are only accessed right before the game freezes on e...

Right. I don't think you can buy an EPROM pin for pin compatible with he one on the cartridge anymore, so you'll also have to do a little rewiring possibly. some types of EPROMS are pin compatible with SO MASK ROM, for example: 27C320 44pin 32megabit/4MB SIOC EPROM is pin compatible with 44pin STAR...

Probably your Video BIOS doesn't support this VBE mode. In DOS you either need the Video BIOS to support it or a 3rd party VBE tsr such as Scitech Display Doctor (now free for download from their ftp site although it hasn't been updated in a few years for new hardware) or univbe. In Windows DOS the ...

Have you done tests on the SNES for this? Would putting different simple regular patterns of pixels on the screen and seeing how they get displayed help figure out how they are combined/filtered? Picking different algorithms because they look better is a reasonable thing to do but it would be nice t...

Hey Overload, have you checked out http://www.hynixmcu.com/download/manual/gms81524b.pdf ? I think you'll find some good information and clues there. Don't take it as Gospel, check out your theories, but this family of chips seems to be very similar to the SPC700 (many of the same operations). Oh he...

the game doesn't seem to want to load with the patch, and if i load a pre-saved savestate from the unpatched rom, the whole screen becomes buggy.
No problems loading here. Patch applied to RS3 V1.1 with header. Also works with autopatch.
