Old topic, but since it hasn't been resolved...

For 1.42, try disabling sound. It seems to be something to do with the game's audio (I'm guessing the music, as it's the only thing noticeably different from the first couple games) that causes hanging in netplay.

I'm aware that the WIPs are for testing and so forth, which is why I was pointing this out -- and although I don't have any rom-verifying tools, I would bet you $50 that this is a perfectly good rom. Got it from a very reliable site. "Chrono Trigger (U) [!].smc", I believe. Plus, I just ga...

Chrono Trigger lockup in 03/08 WIP

I'm just playing through for the first time, and... [spoilers I guess] Immediately after beating the Golem Boss on board the airship, the game cuts to a scene with Dalton standing by the Epoch. As he says "AND I SHALL NAME IT...", the game freezes. I'm just downloading the 03/19 WIP to see...

The hi-res Mode7 filter is not a SNES feature, so use it at your own risk. Well yeah, I knew that, just figured I'd point it out since it seems to work so well with other games. Not that I really care about it being unavailable for Star Fox, I was just kinda  when it started up until ...

11/09/05 ALL: Fixed BG latches for modes 2 and 4 to be 13 bit (fixes Star Fox). [pagefault] http://members.shaw.ca/mfah/conan_barrel-roll.gif DO A BARREL ROLL! Seriously though, summed up in one line, that looks like such a pithy little fix. So what was the greater challenge, identifying the proble...

Give me server access and let me make a pre-registration quiz. I honestly believe that will filter out a large portion of the idiots. Seconded. Question 1: DO YOU LIKE PR0N (y/n) n YOU PHAIL. :P Anyway, I'm really not in a position to say whether or not I find the board helpful, as I've never reall...

I'll admit that when I first got Zsnes and looked around for the configuration options and stuff, the menus weren't arranged as intuitively as I thought they could have been. Took me a while to figure out how the hell to set up the controls, too. :P One of my friends had also been obsessively using ...

Strange. I had this problem when first trying Zsnes in XP, though it had worked perfectly in 98SE previously. Increasing the sample rate seemed to make it worse, too. I think what fixed it for me was setting the lowpass to hi quality.

But then, I also have a PCI sound card, so...

So, in a nutshell, Gaussian is the most accurate, while 8-point is the highest quality? Cool. I never wanted to mess with those settings before in case I screwed something up. :P Guess I'll give it a shot now, though.

Heh, I wonder how my 486 (33 MHz, 8 MB RAM) would handle Zsnes. But at the moment I can't be bothered digging it up to check. :P

I haven't a clue what you're all talking about, but after trying the various Super Bomberman games online and offline in Zsnes 1.42, I've found that you can only seem to play them online if sound is set to disabled on both ends. Game loses a good chunk of its character without the sound and music, b...

Weird thing, when I try to use savestates during netplay (1.42), they transfer just fine and don't freeze Zsnes or anything, but they don't load on my end. They load on the other player's end though, and thus cause about the most incredible de-synching imaginable. Fun.

Yeah, the Square Sound Rape thing is what I acknowledged in my edit up there, but is that also responsible for the music running slightly out of sync?

I've got one: will it ever be possible to play multitap-enabled games online? Like, 3- or 4-player Bomberman, with only one person at each computer? (I know you can do 4-player games online if you have 2 people at each computer, but that kinda fails to work in many situations.)

Spontaneous general praise

I'm not trying to kiss up to anyone, (or am I?) but I just thought I'd like to give Zsnes a little praise after all I've used it over the years. I actually started using Zsnes back in its pre-1.36 days, and boy has it come a long way since. It kicks Snes9x's ass in about every area that I've got use...
