True, that way would be a bit more professional and more accurately reflect the way logos generally happen in games. Having said that, I personally can't stand the procession of logos that accompanies games today... I timed Kingdom Hearts from the moment I turn on the PS2 until I actually start movi...

And might I add that it's actually quite brazen to come to DeJap's *own* forum and ask to remove the evidence that they worked on the game.

It's no different than the constant barrage of logos that pop up on every single game on the face of the earth (see e.g. Star Ocean 2 or Kingdom Hearts). It's just that this way all the logos are on one screen. And DeJap probably put in as much work as any of those sub-logos on the other games, so I...

I don't mind reading the changes (there's some interesting trivia there), but I still don't think it deserves a whole re-translation. I have the feeling that the end result would probably be a lot less enjoyable than the one we have now.

Most of these seem nitpicky, some are downright silly (such as the difference between "Skyway" and "Road to Sky"). There are a few downright mistakes, but I dare you to find a professionally translated RPG where there aren't any. As for the larger changes, localization teams alwa...

Hmm... yeah, but the game seems a lot slower for some reason. Also, I really don't like the key setup (F1 for loading and Shift-F1 for saving confuses me...)

I just started playing Star Ocean again (it took about two years for me to get un-sick of it enough to actually enjoy it) on ZSNES 1.42, and I noticed that the bug where the music stops, which happened fairly rarely on my old version of ZSNES, now happens pretty much every time the scene changes. I ...

Except that Star Ocean came out before the PlayStation did, so I doubt it was referencing PSX controllers. 8p Generally O means "yes" and X means no - for example, the icons on the items have O for a usable item and X for an unusable one.

I actually have the script on my home computer... unfortunately, you're wasting your time. There's only one ending involving Joshua and Marvel. Like I said, there are very few variations on the endings (maybe three or four, max).

None of the SO games make it easy to figure out. Strategy guides or hacking are pretty much it (and hacking AR values is nigh on impossible).

No, there isn't one in SO1, but there is that scene in ToP, ToD, and SO2 and possibly more (I haven't played SOBS or most of the other Tales offerings).

Although both the Tales and Star Ocean series seems to have a propensity for time travel and one scene where a really big cannon hits a lot of monsters.

I can try contacting him, I guess, though I haven't seen him in a long while. I doubt he'd have a problem with you doing the Yes/No menus though. 8-) The problem with what you want to do with the menus is that there are so many items (the menu's already huge) that making the menu twice as long would...

Yes, all three follow the same timeline (SO1, then SO2 about twenty years later, then SO3 about 400 years later). SO: Blue Sphere (GBC) also shares the same world and takes place a couple of years after SO2.

I don't think anyone's said that DeJap isn't dead. Unless you count the front page of dejap.com, and the reason that hasn't been updated is because... well, because DeJap is dead. You'd think that noticing that the most recent update was 2003 would be enough of a hint for you.

Star Ocean is 99.9% complete. The only thing left, pretty much, was the Yes/No menus. You're welcome to do them yourself, but don't bitch about a FREE translation which took many, many hours of work on the part of a bunch of different people and which is still better quality than Wild ARMs: Alter Co...
