Star Ocean and Street Fighter Alpha 2 both work properly now without graphics packs. The Seta10 game that works is Exhaust Heat 2 aka F1 Race of Champions 2, as far as I can remember. Dungeon Master works this release too. The Sufami Turbo games are, for the most part, batshit insane japanese things...

To hack something specific into the graphics, yeah it would be. But you could just hex edit a few bytes randomly and you could end up with something like a few blue dots. And it can't be an Easter Egg. This isn't running with Graphics packs. It's emulating the SDD-1. EDIT: hey, just found it - does ...

Snes emulation on the DS is perfectly possible, no one is stamping out discussion on that. The problem is when people ask for ports of Zsnes to the DS, as you appear to be doing with this topic title. Unless the DS has an x86 compatible processor, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't, it's not gonna happen.

I don't suppose you know any portable GUI tookits - TK or whatever? wxPython, based on wxWidgets. I was writing one for NSRT in Python but I discovered that laying stuff out is evil as boxes just change their shape and size for the hell of it. Um, that's kind of the point. You specify how things sh...

I have a revolutionary idea. So revolutionary that... ITS ALREADY HERE!!! For renaming roms, use NSRT! For an IRC chatroom.. use an IRC program, like mIRC! For a Web Browser, perhaps use some sort of web browsing based program! Cheats and info, perhaps find them on the Internet! A SNES emulator, whe...

These are direct from the NSRT source, FYI. MGH is a dump from the Multi Game Hunter, a copier which supported both SNES and Genesis. DX2 seems like it would be a dump from a Super Wildcard DX2, but I think they just come out with the extension SWC. But hey, Nach obviously has seen some in the wild ...

Re: yeah thats it
Ichinisan wrote: He was saying that there are at least five different *valid* SNES ROM image filename extensions.
A few from the top of my head:
SMC
SFC
FIG
SWC
BIN
...
Exactly. MGD, MGH, DX2, GD3, GD7, USA, EUR, JAP, AUS, although most of those are very uncommon.

Not necessarily, although most of the time it probably will be.Paul Bunyan wrote:2 as Ichinisan said, you need a ROM file, they are usually zipped, but if you unzip them, the extension will be .smc

Re: Great!
Not necessarily, the checksum is stored in the ROM as well so if you know what you're doing you can alter it so it is valid.Agozer wrote: Patchin or altering the contents of the rom image in anyway will result in a bad checksum.

Make a file called zsnes.bat and put it in your zsnes folder. If you want it to run a file called fifan2.smc then all the bat file needs to contain is: zsnes -6 fifan2.smc It's much quicker to do things with a command line really, but if you have no experience doing it then making a batch file is pr...
