I actually use OS X as my main OS on my standard x86 PC. When I upgraded it not long ago, I just took it into consideration when I chose the parts I wanted so that I would be sure to have compatible hardware. I have no problems.

I think the Mac port of ZSNES (ZSNES.app) has a higher resolution icon.

hmm.. they CAN be pretty cheap any developers interested in a mac mini? I'm interested in it for development, but I doubt anyone wants to spend $600 + shipping to send me one. It's actually pretty easy at this point to install OS X on standard x86 PC hardware now that Apple has transitioned to Inte...

Just wanted to say, Krade's build is the best of ZSNES for OS X I've seen since this project started. The major OpenGL problems that were present before seem to be gone and no issues as of yet. I'm using a 17" iMac with Intel Core Duo (ATi X1600).. Mac OS X 10.4.8.

I dont remember the 1.42n (special netplay release) version actually working better for anyone with netplay then the official 1.42. It was a test that didn't work out, so I'm puzzled why everyone recommends it in nearly every topic about netplay problems. The version most stable for netplay is 1.36,...

Well, I'm using the default paths set by Fink ...

Going by what BRP said, he used Fink aswell -- so that shouldn't be a problem?

Here are the paths set by Fink:

/sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/sbin

I did use Fink to get SDL... I also just now took your recommendation to install autoconf/automake via Fink -- which I did just now. No changes, whatsoever. It still fails to recognize SDL (so I went ahead and set --disable-sdltest again), and then it continues to fail to see that I have zlib aswell...

Well, I just went ahead and attempted to compile it again. But I'm having issues getting it to recognize/find zlib, (sdl aswell, but I just bypassed it by disabling sdltest). zlib is installed correctly... and it is the required version 1.2.3. checking for zlib - version >= 1.2.3... no configure: er...

Not to be a nuisance, but mind posting a compiled binary? The last working one posted was a WIP for 1.43, which is pretty old.

I can't say I've been successful trying to compile it from source myself following the linux/sdl instructions.

Psst.. I realize OS X is unix based and all, but generally OS X users don't have too much in common with that of users of other unix operating systems. A high majority of OS X users I'm willing to bet wouldn't even know it was possible to compile themselves. Rock solid unix-based? Yes. However, from...

I can't confirm that^ It works for me using a SuperSmartJoy. However, I notice on the OS X version after it asks for the B button it will stall for a bit and I have to press ESC for the rest of the buttons and then manually select and edit the rest. It works though, just the settings of buttons is w...

Someone care to update the binary with latest SVN so we can mess with the new custom font thing? :P

Tested & working under latest update to 10.4.7 btw.

There's no excuse for anyone that builds ZSNES from source to not have the latest SDL. I don't see a problem making that a requirement if development calls for it.

Yes, I know there is custom res support. But considering those resolutions will most likely be used by majority of Mac users, it would only make sense to include them in the GUI... atleast in the Mac version anyway.

I'm on it. :)

BTW, think it might be a good idea to add 1440x900 and 1680x1080 in the list of resolutions for the OS X version? I mean, that's what a lot of people are going to be using since those are the native iMac/Apple LCD resolutions.

Yeah... the only reason ZSNES is coming to Mac is because they're using Intel processors now. Sooner or later, most people will have x86 macs anyway.

As of revision 3233 upto 3235, no roms will output video, just a black screen with sound. I couldn't get 3232 to run so I'm not sure where exactly this started to happen.

Can anyone else confirm?

I messed with packaging a bit and came up with this. http://nourism.net/ZSNES_r3234.dmg I made it .app executable and added the ZSNES icon to it. I didn't put any libraries for SDL or anything in it though. (So youll probably need SDL and X11 for it to work) But atleast the terminal window doesn't n...
