Hi tech support here,

I would try to disable Aero, you can do this in the next version in the options but for now if you right click the EXE and click properties then on the compatibility tab, click disable desktop composition and then click OK tell me if that helps.

If you really wanted to you could probably get away with using some shaders in a seperate library of sorts if you licensed it differently. Of course that might lead to plugin hell. So it might not be the best option.

ZSNES "2.0" is progressing fairly well so far we have many many graphics engine fixes and tons of emulation fixes that should please everyone. We have made no headway on netplay yet, we might do this after we release. The GUI is coming alone nicely it just needs bindings now but we are not...

The source will always be available but SVN may be always be closed, we may post WIP's. This is better quality in the end because you will get a milestone build rather than the raw guts.
