What do you mean by "turn off the volume"? Do you disable sound in Turbo Engine or the main Windows' volume? Also, try to enable "SuperHQ" from sound menu and see if that fixes the problems. Also, are you playing from a real CD or ISO/OGG/CUE etc..?

Enable "Arcade card" from "System" menu.

Turbo Engine 0.32 has been released. This is a small update and mainly fixes the sound cracking/popping in some CD-ROM games.

I too intended to buy one due to the linux support (because it allowed you to run your own code on the PPE/SPEs) but pfft...whatever.

Thats because its kernel isn't based on BSD. Its based on Mach. Only part of freebsd core run on top of this Mach microkernel.

And if the notepad file (release note) is to be believed, then I guess Nestopia is pretty much dead. A real shame considering this has to be one of the goddamn best NES emulators ever made. Or maybe the author is busy with other stuff? I dunno why people are so quick to count an emulator "dead...

Hey, Kinda new to all this, I got the emulator, and I remember seeing my brother with this emulator playing neutopia and other such things.. I got a Ys Book 1&2 ROM download with teh ISO file thing... How exactly am I to get it to work tho? I am using Virtual Clone drive.. Umm.. Can't think of ...

Yeah, I haven't released the fixed build yet. I am targeting on releasing the normal, debugger enabled and the Linux port all at the same time for the next release. Plus, Turbo Engine's priority is quite low on my list right now since its seen some releases and some other projects that I've started ...

Yeah, the problem with the sound in CD games has been fixed. But the problem with the gamepad not working with CD games is totally new. I'll see if I can reproduce and fix it somehow.

You're absolutely right. I retested these three games in my wife's laptop and they all ran perfectly. This is the 2nd DVD-ROM drive I've purchased for my desktop PC in hopes that I'd find one that would read a mixed CD properly. Even IsoBuster said that those 3 games ripped properly with no errors....

I found the problem to the sound buzzing/poping problem. It should be fixed in the next release.
