Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Freesync (AMD's brand name for it) or adaptive sync is the more standard version of gsync. Gsync is just some gay nvidia thing that only their stuff works with because they're assholes.

freesync too? (would be nice for there to be a somewhat universal wrapper for *sync)

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I wouldn't mind simple 2D enhancements on mode 7, with maybe a multiplier since 2x or 3x might look good but too much would probably look really bad. 3D would probably look really bad (high res, antialiasing, etc) if there wasn't some intention of kind of emulator-wide game enhancements but that see...

You know people will continue to use 1.42 or 1.51. :pYuber wrote:Yeah even though it's still in its early stages, it's really nice to hear about serious progress being made. I hope it's the best SNES emulator out there when it's released.(faster than BSNES/higan, more accurate than 9x)

Re: HOW to record IN HD
You can't just change the resolution, you need to add a scale filter. The resoultion you changed is the resolution the encoder expects from zsnes, so it got all messed up. You can add the scale filter to the mencoder command line with -vf scale, or if there's already a -vf argument, add scale to tha...

GLSL based shaders support in the future would be more portable and perform a lot better. But I imagine this sort of thing is WAY off in the future. GLSL shaders are also basically automatically "open source", so there's a benefit there.

Qemu is an emulator. It'll probably just be 1.51 running in an emulator, more or less.

That'll be plenty for retro emulation. Even something like retroarch with the higan balanced core would work fine (though special chip games might still give you some issues).

The sad thing is that even though this is historically relevent and not even worth anything commercially, there's real risk of whoever owning the rights cracking down on something like this. Businesses are assholes.

A robot would have better English than they do, but yeah I imagine in some cases it is actual people paid to do crap like that, and probably tortured if they don't make enough of a return.

It seems that Actiontec FiOS modem/routers have a port forward preset for zsnes, but they seem to have also made the typo which must not be spoken when entering the name in. :D I can't get a screenshot (VPNed in), but I have the entry from the UPnP list: 216 UDP 7845->:0 'ZNES [MICROSOFT]' '' 0 I d...

Why is furry art always of muscly men? I almost never see just skinny or average dudes and maybe occasionally see sort of "model" guys. But way more often it's big jacked guys.

Re: Sound getting more buggy with time
I've had that problem in the past. Don't know what the solution was. Wouldn't be surprised if zsnes still has trouble with pulseaudio in some way. I know you can switch between libao and SDL audio output, one or the other might do the job. I don't remember how, and it might be at compile-time.

Re: death of graphics
it sounds like the screen comes on, but displays "split", and I suppose by "8 bit colors" could mean that the palette is messed up or something. If that's the case then yeah the GPU is probably toast. If it only happens with zsnes, you can just delete your zsnesw.cfg file and rel...

Re: Dream Computer
I pretty much have the computer that I need and wouldn't benefit from more. Modern CPUs like the i7-4790 are only maybe 20% faster at best in some benchmarks than my i7-2600; more like 5% in plenty of others. Doesn't really seem all that attractive until we can get something that's a solid at least ...

Nah I got it. I wonder if other direct draw applications have this same problem and can be fixed similarly. It'd have to be made a bit differently to be a bit more universal I guess. I suppose dxgl does the job though.

Re: Ubuntu Zsnes executing from Mounted share
Mounted filesystems shouldn't appear any differently to zsnes as any other file/directory. I'd say make sure you're not trying to use a GVFS or KIO mount but you said you're using fstab so that's not the case. Pretty odd. Also yes linux has symlinks (ln -s TARGET LINK_NAME) but I don't know that tha...

Autohotkey might be able to remap mouse buttons to keyboard keys. It's a bit overkill but it might do the job.

Re: Getting DualShock 3s to work with Xinput Wrapper
Exactly as he said. Zsnes doesn't use xinput so you need to either find a program that'll go from dualshock directly to directinput, or a second conversion stage from xinput to directinput, but you might run in to higher input lag inthat case, or it might make no difference at all, or might even be ...
