Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You

True, but everyone's who's ever used an emulator has downloaded ROMs, and rather than dumping your own games, you could hypothetically spend 15 minutes or so downloading the same ROMs you intend to dump with the exact same results. You're absolutely right from a legal standpoint, but both scenarios...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You

aceofkings, for using your SNES Cartridges, something like the Retrode should be a good solution. http://www.retrode.org/ Unfortunately production has stopped, so if they are sold out you'll be out of luck there. Although, I think you can build one yourself, but I don't know the details on that. Yub...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You

Found an interesting solution by accident the other day, when you're full-screen with a poor frame-rate and the scaled pixels are nearest neighbor/point filtering. Just simply minimizing and restoring the window brings the frame-rate to normal and the pixels are as uniform as you can get with a bili...

Re: Ubuntu Zsnes executing from Mounted share

In Windows a directory symbolic link (MKLINK /D ".\local link" "//remote/target") would work for ZSNESw, but I have no idea if something similar is possible in a Linux environment.

Re: HOW DO You Full screen zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to lear

As I said, I was assuming you have set a custom resolution to your monitor's resolution or else it would not work. Your settings should look like below, minus the ASSTAXI, replace ASS for your horizontal and TAXI for your vertical. The gold stars are your visual aids to find where you are supposed t...

http://i.imgur.com/eIFrvsLl.png In red, I circled "DS F" as it's listed in the list of modes to use. In green, I circled where the current video mode will have the "DS F" if it was applied. I am assuming that you have set the custom resolution to the resolution of your monitor, ...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You

It mostly was about how DirectDraw's output was changed, not exactly on how well it runs and how to deal with it. Unfortunately it seems to be tied to GPU drivers still. My 7850 with the 13.11 Beta 9.2 driver uses Nearest Neighbor on windowed and going full-screen gives an error.

Solutions to Poor Performance in Windows 7 to 10

Alternate Title: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You FUN FACT: ZSNES, a favorite emulator of many, uses DirectDraw. What is DirectDraw? It's a deprecated graphical rendering interface that modern versions of Windows only offer basic support for. Why does DirectDraw matter on modern Win...

Would ZSNES be using save/ips/etc from the current directory the command is executed (instead of in the ROM's or ZSNES's save folder) or something to that effect?

Re: Blurry Screen Problem, Really Sorry to Ask This

You can use DXGL (DirectX 1-7 to OpenGL Wrapper) to force the scaling method from Bilinear to Nearest. Just remember to use "CUSTOM DS F" set to your monitor's native resolution to reduce the impact of the pixel warping, as all the pixels will have to vary size (3x3 4x3 3x3 4x3 for an exam...

Use a DirectDraw wrapper that uses OpenGL or Direct3D and launch ZSNES with Steam normally. Just tried this with DXGL and works fine, have fun I guess.

So just re-sampling and inverting the left channel will create the greatest sound processing ever? To be honest, the improvement of such a thing is relatively minor. Yes you can hear a difference, most do hear a difference, but in the end it's still compressed samples recorded at a low bit-resolutio...

Funny how kokocipher mentioned the Mega Man X series. In my random cheat searching, breaking the charge states makes some fun, I found that there is volume control in all three games (and MMVII).
