Vista and HDD free space calculation...
I think Vista is lying to me about my free space. It says the capacity is 149 GB, and free space is 40 GB. If I go the root folder and ask for properties on every folder. If I add all those numbers together, I get 92 GB used. Unless they've changed subtraction rules, 149 - 92 != 40. So, assuming 149...

Most of the cut scenes in FFX are rendered using the game's engine. You can't just rip them, sadly. Or are you referring to the FMVs that don't look anything like the game's normal graphics? Both would be nice, but I was referring to the FMVs. I suppose it might be possible to hook my PS2 into my T...

final fantasy X cutscenes...
I would like to rip these from the disc. Not having the disc on me atm (it's in storage), I have been trying to download them. I have found them on youtube, and in a torrent as mpeg-2, but they are all low quality. I'd like to make better versions using the original source material. I'm not sure how...

mencoder is avail on windows, supports mpeg-2 encoding which is dvd compliant. if mplayer can play it, mencoder can encode it. if you are not worried heavily about space constraints, it is the best solution. free software. http://www.mplayer.hu/ mencoder -oac lavc -ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format...

Do you have Vista? Cause I don't think you need DWMAPI if you don't, and it should be there already if you do. I think the problem was the manifest for the new C runtime libraries. I don't know what a manifest is, but whatever. If this version doesn't work, I'll recompile in mingw. http://games.tech...

The application shows an error message , but no file names. Dependency Walker shows that these files are missing: MSVCP90.DLL MSVCR90.DLL DWMAPI.DLL These were the ones I was wondering about. Except for DWMAPI which I think is part of Vista. objdump -p gave me the other two. I have put a newer arch...

I didn't find anything in the links you provided, so I am going to leave it as is. I wanted to release yesterday, but I found a weird bug that took me a long time to track down. None of the debuggers I found would work. Thankfully Qt now allows the use of MSVC Express with the opensource edition, an...

You also changed Ctrl- to Strg-. This fails to put accelerators on for me, so I just want to confirm that it works in an actual German locale. Do you mean it doesn't display the keyboard shortcut, or the key doesn't work? The English version works here. I mean the accelerator is missing. Ctrl+O doe...

Thanks for all your help corronchilejano, creaothceann, and Neo Kaiser. I have to rewrite the way the names are handled, since we have some non-ASCII characters in the Spanish and German versions. I will probably make a larger about box so I can credit you guys. Do you want your message board names ...

Well, Im not actually saying they're new spells or anything, but they do appear between the other ones in the rom. I've played the game before and I don't remember ever seeing those. Have you ever checked differences between the european releases and the american one? I'll upload a fixed translatio...

Oh my oh my, didn't think it was posible, but indeed, it has a huge part in pure ASCII. Spanish can be found here: http://rapidshare.com/files/85561450/Evermore_ASCII_dump.txt.html I havent checked it completely, but maybe everything needed is there. EDIT: Since I finished double checking everythin...

The obvious would be playing the game and finding out what the real name is. Can anyone map a character table to dump the script? The character map is ASCII for the most part. I know there are some differences from utf-8 and the German accented vowels. There is a ton of text in the Spanish ROM star...

I have not patched this version for the European checksum change. So, no, that version will only work with US SRAMs. If it is important, I can post a patched version, but I haven't finished integrating the change into the main source yet. I'm working on that now. edit : I have posted a european bina...

My point exactly. EDIT: Think u could send me an SRAM file? I currently don't have a ROM to generate one, and I'd like to test it. EDIT2: Checking the weapons, I see that most of them already have a name. Are these names taken directly off the Spanish version? I know there's one, but I played the e...

I know there are more than a couple Spanish speakers on this board, so I was wondering if any of you would be interested in helping me translate one of my programs into Spanish. It's very little work. 50 lines I think are left, and it would be nice if someone would check what I've already done on th...

It might not be a bad idea to make a separate partition for my large files. I'm not entirely sure I trust the ntfs-3g driver yet. It's a bit new. From what I've read, ext3 and Reiser do well on large numbers of small files (so basic systems or mail/news servers), but don't work so well with larger f...
