Not yet. I spent about 5 minutes on it, though. So don't feel too worried. I'd look into running it in a seperate X. like "xinit /usr/bin/zsnes -- :2" maybe? You'll need to get the other issues sorted out first, of course, then Try zsnes in xgl anyway. It might work, but don't get pissed o...

Xgl does do a pretty good job of screwing over opengl.

Typically, OpenGL things like Zsnes need to be run on a seperate X server without XGL...

I haven't gotten that part to work, yet, though XGL/compiz works perfectly with ATI.

Like it matters. Really, I never managed to get my k6-2+ machine to go above 30fps in win2k with my virge. I replaced it with a radeon 7500, but I don't recall if it sped it up. A fast k6-2 (500 or 550) will easily get 50fps out of CT with win98 and 60/60 in quite a few games. NT will slow it down, ...

It could very likely be that that person has UDP ports blocked or unfowarded. The hanging at "FOUND CLIENT" is usually the result of zsnes being able to move TCP data but not UDP.

Have that person check outer settings. Consider using a different port.

Or I could be wrong.

SD3 works best in a WIP, I'd wager.

HOWEVER, Sd3 NETPLAY works best in 1.36.

You may also wish to try 1.42n, but I've never used it and don't remember where the mirrors are.

Yeah, I haven't switched from 2k becuase I find most of XP's additions really annoying. Security-wise, wait for 3 months after its released before making ANY judgements in regards to that. It could very well be really secure. Or it could be like XP: touted as secure by Microsoft, but full of holes. ...

The average linux distribution only supports a particular version for at most 3 years. Of course, Linux has evolved greatly in the past 3 years, which Windows has not. Eh, well, most corporations decided to "just stick with 2k since it is more than adequate." 2k is the most commonly used Windows still. Microsoft doesn't want that to repeat. Not upgrading OSes = no money. So expect for them to do some seriously underhanded voodoo to inspire you to switch ...

PR number, likely. Which means its performance is about equal to that of a P133. If Its a Compaq Presario, there is a great chance that it is a MediaGX, which are even slower, as the CPU, MMU, GPU, and sound processor are all one chip. Don't expect great speed at all. My sister has a MediaGX 233, an...

That depends. Under Linux ALSA (and I think, OSS) can only handle as many simultanious sounds as your soundcard can. If you have a half-decent sound card, then this number is likely too high to practically hit. If you have a cheap-ass shitty onboard sound card, then it can't hardware miz any sounds ...
