Yes this is a perfectly safe way to block websites on the PC. (A large HOSTS file is known to slow down the system in Windows 2000/XP, but this is resolved when you disable the DNS Client service.) I discovered this method a few weeks ago (on machines running Windows 2000 and 98) and it works great....

You need to rename gens.exe to zsnesw.exe then run it and load your ROM.
It worked for me.
