I'm on the last stage of SRWAG, I got a skil point without even trying and jumped from easy to normal difficulty.

My super robots are being pummeled, I might start over the stage and use more supply mechs.

Not really, in cutscenes he always uses the default gun, the one that springs to mind right now is when he falls into the spike pit.

What's the rom's specs? At least the checksum.

Don't use savestates, use normal saving.

Delete the configuration files in your zsnes folder and run the .exe again.
