Yeah, it is neat stuff

It's basically the same principle that applies when you see a car's hubcaps spinning, and eventually they appear to be moving backwards instead of forwards

edit: typo. looks simple, the key is a very steady source of drops, or sensing each drop as it comes out to sync the light source. could pry be made with simple circuitry but fuck that, use a microcontroller baby.

another cool thing to do with strobe lights is to(if u can get ahold of one or some) put some of the big ones(the sort you see at parties or clubs) in a dim hall or large room(you need to have some light) and get some of your mates around all equiped with those huge boxing gloves or paintball guns.

the strobe lights create a "frame-by-frame" effect that makes it incredibly hard to aim and/or balance yourself while moving.

the strobe light has to affect the whole room however and it needs to be a BIG room to make it worth it

also make sure thay dont have colored lens or the effect just isnt the same
