anyone have a good suggestion for a good home theater system? im not looking to spend too much over one grand.

Best suggestion: buy a full featured amplifier and powered sub-woofer from retail chain, electronics store or whatever. Spend 3-500 on the amplifier and sub-woofer, spend the remaining 5-600 or so on decent speakers at a pawn shop. I did this, with great results.

Imo: Theater in a box systems suck, always build your own. With a "built" system at least you can upgrade the speakers if they aren't loud enough, blow, get stolen/wrecked etc..
