Congrats, you won out unless she also got spending money.Joe Camacho wrote:Guys, my 22th birthday has just finished... Present? a 300 pesos credit card for my cellphone (Less than 30 US dollars)
What will the retard of my sister receive for her 15 birthday?
A trip to Europe.
(I'm kidding. I think.)
Anyhow... what, sexual discrimination favoring the female in certain situations is news these days?

My dad actually told me once, that because I'm the only one of his children that will be able to succeed in the "real world", he should treat me like this.
Because my sisters won't know anything better than getting married. Actually, my older sister, will marry next September.
For example, last year my older sister got a new car. My dad bought new furniture and lots of law book collections for "my office", which is actually HIS, until he retires..
But he sees it as an investment, while he justifies himself of not buying me awesome stuff.
Now if I can convince him I need a new Macbook to study. Still, it kind of sucks knowing that you will get nothing while your sisters will get awesome stuff.

Yes. Can't argue with the Pater Familias though, I think that deep in his mind, he knows this. But, when he was a kid, his family was poor, so he wanted to give us all the stuff he didn't have. My sisters just don't get it, I guess it's awesome to be able to ignore your conscience.Johan_Hanberg wrote:I don't really know anything about your family but, is it possible your sisters are stupid because they're being spoiled?
Another example, during our Christmas trip to US, at our last stop, my dad wanted to give us a big surprise, he wanted to buy my younger sister and me digital cameras, one for each of us. So we wouldn't be fighting for one.
Sadly, my dad lacks english skills, so I tagged along to choose the cameras. So the only one surprised was going to be my sister, big deal, I wanted a camera for months. So there we were, asking about digital cameras and the like, until we decided on them.. Then my sister arrived.
The conversation went something like this:
Sister: "What are you doing Dad?"
Joe: "Scram human trash."
Dad: "Well, surprise surprise, I'm getting you a digital camera for christmas."
Sister: "A CAMERA?"
Dad: "Yes."
Sister: "BUT I DON'T WANT A CAMERA!!!"
Joe: "Shut up and die, waste of air."
Sister: "I WANT AN IPOD! I have a better idea, WHY DON'T YOU BUY ME AN IPOD AND YOU CAN MAKE JOE LET ME BORROW HIS CAMERA WHENEVER I WANT!"
Joe: "You.. little.."
(I love my dad soo much sometimes..)
Dad: "No, Joe WON'T LET YOU BORROW HIS CAMERA, I'm not getting you a 500 dlls piece of electronics just so you break it like that gameboy a couple of years ago, I will buy you both cameras so you won't be fighting over one, so choose: You get a camera NOW, or nothing."
Sister: .. I don't want the camera Joe is going to get.

Well, you will have to live with that until she realizes that things shouldn't come that easy in life. I know everyone wants to get whatever they want, but at some way somehow, life will force you to realize that won't just happen on a whim. Whatever I guess...

No, I will live with this only I finish University, or until I get a stable job. I seriously don't expect her to change.Deathlike2 wrote:Well, you will have to live with that until she realizes that things shouldn't come that easy in life. Even when she goes to college? I would think she will change some time in her life, but after reading what you wrote, it will take a while.Joe Camacho wrote:No, I will live with this only I finish University, or until I get a stable job. She is having trouble in the junior high she is right now, it's expensive as hell and hard. I adviced my parents *not* to enroll her there, but, "ALL MY FRIENDS ARE GOING TO GO THEEERE!!"snkcube wrote:Even when she goes to college? So she is now struggling, because even though she was in a bilingual elementary school, like my older sister and me, doesn't know enough english because instead of practicing it, she forces me or my older sister to talk for her in US. This Junior High is a bilingual one too, they take Math, History and other subjects in spanish and in english.

I think you mean you talk for her which... is rather lame. I think you might do her a "favor" by not helping her, but then again, she could hold that against you somehow and I'm not even sure if you like that idea to begin with. Somehow, I do think your father can enforce something at some point in given time for her sake.Joe Camacho wrote:She is having trouble in the junior high she is right now, it's expensive as hell and hard. Indeed. For example, Check-in/out of the Hotel, I do it. Ordering stuff at restaurants, I do that too. Because "I am the one that knows english".
When we are at a mall, we all eat whatever we want to, but she has to wait until I finish ordering because she *can't* ask for a damn burger with a coke in english.
Even my parents do their best to try to communicate.
