Need to use USB Gamepad on DOS ZSNES! Please Help!

Post by alectronix »

Hello people, I am new here. I have been using ZSNES for years though.

But now I want to use it on my Intel Centrino Notebook together with a USB Gamepad. The Problem is: I want to connect to a TV and that only works with the DOS version of ZSNES, probably due to some awkwarcies with the notebook. But the DOS version apparently doesn't support USB Gamepads. ... Is there any way to get an USB Pad to work with the DOS version of ZSNES??

Or does somebody know of some kind of emulator that simulates the USB Gamepad as parallel on LPT under DOS??

THanks in advance!!

I think that what you ask is impossible, with the exception of a converter.

I could be wrong though.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

DOS doesn't recognize USB, so I'd say you're out of luck.

They are usb drivers for dos, but they aren't free, and I doubt they support gamepads, and if they do, zsnes won't support them.

How about experimenting a little more with Display Properties->Advanced Settings and desktop resolutions to get the Windows version to work? What about updated video card drivers, update DirectX, etc.?

If you're running DOS under windows, you could use a keyboard mapping tool.

Thanks very much for your responses all! This seems to be a friendly place :)

Well I have tried everything on video modes and updating display drivers and direct X. It seems to me that the GFX-adapter of my notebook doesnt support enough overlay channels ... ????

I am now looking for the proposed keyboard mapping tool. Can you recommend one? Havent found a decent sollution through google yet ...

Thanks in advance!
