Wario's Woods

Post by Red_Wraith »

Does somebody know what the arrows next to the images of the monsters mean? Mostly they are vertical, but sometimes they are also diagonal.

I mean the white arrows which you can see, for example, on these screenshots: http://www.consoleclassix.com/info_img/ ... nShot4.gif

Unfortunately, I don't have a manual of the game and I haven't found any information in the internet.

I don't think so. I've searched this FAQ and some others for the word "arrow" but haven't found this word. Thank you nevertheless.

OK. I believe that monsters with a diagonal arrow must be connected diagonally to make them disappear. And so on for vertical and horizontal arrows.

Hm, but at least the monsters with the vertical arrow also disappear if you connect them horizontally or diagonally. So the arrows must have a different meaning.

This is a manual for the NES version but it should give you some insight to those arrows. It's a pretty crappy scan though. If the link doesn't work just copy and paste it in your browser's address bar.

Vertical = cleared with Vertical, Horizontal or Diagonals
Diagonal = Only cleared with Diagonals

Can't make out the text on the other 2 types.

Thank you very much, mytmyke and franpa!

I can make out the text of the other 2 types (page 6). The description of the Spook monster (the symbol looks like 2 coffee cups) is: "Arrange one match to make this monster flash. As the enemies are flashing arrange another match to make it disappear"

The description of the question mark symbol is: "Arrange one match to make the color of this character change. Arrange another match to make it disappear"
