Tetris & Dr.Mario Warps NTSC Filter

Post by Truth Unknown »

I found this is the ZSNES 03/29 WIP for Windows, and I'm going to see which older versions are affected to see where it started.

With the NTSC filter on, Tetris and Dr.Maro streaches upto double the height of screen through the bottom of the screen.

This is affecting all modes with D, regardless of resolution and mode (Fullscreen, Windowed). Also effecting filtered and unfiltered GUI

Hardware:
Intel Celeron Northwood CPU 2.0GHz 400FSB

Do those modes use interlace or hires? pagefault has said that is not working in the WIPs in the past.

I don't know about interlace, but it does not use hi-res from what I can tell.

It might use overscan mode (239 lines) / PAL mode.

It should be fixed in CVS. Much has changed since the last WIP.

How does the filter handle hi-res modes as of the current CVS? IIRC blargg's snes_ntsc code still doesn't take hi-res into account.

Hi-res is still not supported.

Yes it does. ZSNES doesn't. blargg's filter even supports mixed-screen modes such as in GOD and Madara 2 where dialogue boxes are hires, but the world map is lores. It also performs proper color blending for the hires modes to make pseudo-hires translucency effects render correctly.
