the bottom 2 or so lines show feed of data not normally seen on a TV... im aware this was shown due to people's request but is there an option i overlooked to disable them as they make some games feel weird... like megaman x 3 has a constant yellow band at the bottom that is weird...

Would this boarder be considered the same as the ones within chronotrigger? I though there was gonna be a option for displaying or not displaying those in the future. I still play on the snes9x psp hacked one for pc when playing chrono trigger just because thos borders bug the shit out of me.
maybe on plasma and lcd TV's but never have i seen tho's lines on a normal tv..... and and yea i dunno about if it was shown on a ntsc tv because i dont have a ntsc snes.

Eh, if I were skilled enough with C I'd do it myself... but then if I recall the actual emulation is done in asm, whoops.
An option would be pretty nice though. I mean, it falls under the same spectrum as filters, changing audio interpolation, lowpass filters... etc. Neat extras.
Soooo...are chances great that you'll use that exact combination of resolution and refresh rate elsewhere? I mean, I use 60hz and that's barely used for anything else.

You're forgetting that you're assuming -S for that to even work out appreciably. Unless you're seriously suggesting that the top half of the screen be one rather sizeable black bar.

what? i use 1280x960 DS with that 4:3 option ticked... isn't 1280x960 a 4:3 resolution?

Shut. The.Fuck.UP.
The SNES's native resolution is 256x224, not 256x223.

Anyhow. What about window modes, then? Doesn't damage the point either way. I'm simply pointing out that blackmyst's solution is unquestionably suboptimal.
Further, out of curiosity I checked the filters... the line doesn't vanish in at least DR.
