.Mod music samples?

Post by Oskar_Hanberg »

I'm doing tunes in .mod and .xm format using milkytracker, but I'm starting to feel rather limited with the samples I have. So, does anyone know of a free sample library I could use? Preferably one that has chip-like samples and drums in it. Thanks.

Long ago, I got a hold of a long audio file containing random sounds from metal slug 3, the most part consisting of the instrument samples used for the ingame music. I could give you a copy.

Please note that you would have rip the samples out of it first with a sound editor.

Speaking of which, I've been out of the MOD circles for some time, could anyone give me advice on a good tracker?

I know there's this one: http://www.modplug.com/trackerinfo.html

You could also ask at pouet.net.

Modplug! Many snobs dislike it, but it has an interface superior to ancient DOS trackers.

Download a bunch of chiptune modules and rip samples out of them.

I used that one and Fastracker a LONG time ago. Then I moved to Madtracker.

I used fasttracker fom 1996 to a few years ago. when I got xp I dualbooted xp and 98 for a while, just to be able to use fasttracker, but I'm using madtracker now. I wonder if fasttracker works alright in dosbox yet...

anyways, since we're on the topic already, here's my latest wip:
