Youtube now downgrades FLVs
Youtube used to leave uploaded FLV format videos untouched but not anymore, it seems that are using a system that detects if a uploaded FLV video fits a specific filesize:Duration ratio, if so youtube will reencode the bitstreams downgrading the original quality, now I search for another possible video sharing website that allows uploading FLVs without touching the quality.

Yeah but afaik the free web hosting services offers a very limited storage for the only purpose of sharing videos, the .avi format is very limited and seems not good for streaming when looking for a decent quality of audiopaulguy wrote:get your own web space. I and I'm sure most people prefer getting a .avi or something over flash players.

Nowadays, pay hosting is very cheap or you can usually find someone on the internet to host it but I can understand where you're coming from there. Now, about quality, I have no clue what you're talking about. 1, I said "or something" which could mean any container you want like mkv or ogg but certainly not something like mov or wmv unless you're a retard. 2, youtube doesn't offer steaming anyway as far as I know and 3, a standalone video could provide much greater audio and video quality than youtube or google video or any of those could ever offer.spambot wrote:Yeah but afaik the free web hosting services offers a very limited storage for the only purpose of sharing videos, the .avi format is very limited and seems not good for streaming when looking for a decent quality of audiopaulguy wrote:get your own web space. Now, my beef with Flash video players is you usually have to jump through hoops to save the video to your computer and they tend to perform very poorly on older PCs and I'm sure they perform badly on a more modern PC, given higher quality video, such as HD content.
