R-Type Final hidden ship with cool DNA looking laser?
I haven’t played R-Type Final for quite some time now, as I lost interest after having unlocked more than half of the hidden ships, but recently I saw this screen shot that intrigued my interest again.
This ship with the cool DNA looking laser, I was wondering what’s the name of the ship and exactly what events have to take place to unlock it?
Thanks in advance.

Tyhere's several ships that use that force...
Standard force ... DX, I think.
http://www.slateman.net/rtype/rtypefinal/masterlist/ tells you how to unlock EVERYTHING.
The first DX ship is password-locked.
Ship 3: R9A3 Lady Love. Password 5270 0725 for the US ver.
As a sidenote, the Leos and Ragnaroks are awesome. Same for the Anchor Force family.
The Strike Bomber and Ragnarok2 wave cannons are a sick joke, though. A 2-loop charge on either cannon can kill MOST BOSSES in one hit. The Rag2 can charge SEVEN loops. God only knows why you'd want to.

I think there are more than one ship that does that, I have not played it in forever so I don't remember for certain.ST Dragon wrote:I haven’t played R-Type Final for quite some time now, as I lost interest after having unlocked more than half of the hidden ships, but recently I saw this screen shot that intrigued my interest again.

But you have to get the password-locked ship before you can unlock any of the rest of the Standard Force DX ships.
I have the Euro PAL version of R-Type Final, will the pass code 5270 0725 work?Gil_Hamilton wrote:Tyhere's several ships that use that force...

I have NO idea. I haven't seen mention of the PAL version anywhere before today.ST Dragon wrote:I have the Euro PAL version of R-Type Final, will the pass code 5270 0725 work?Gil_Hamilton wrote:Tyhere's several ships that use that force...

Would probably be faster to boot your PS2 up and check than wait thirteen hours for me to see and respond to your post, though.
Especially since I'm just going to suggest you try it and see what happens ANYWAYS.
And then suggest using the Japanese code if the US one doesn't work. And I'm not even gonna copy/paste the J code for you. I'll just point to the link in the post you quoted.

The Pal and Japanese ship codes are the same. Also since this thread is resurrected I must say that I like this game and I like the Bydo Series spaceships the most. Considering the sex scene in one of the final stages, I wonder how this game was rated E.

Yes I know that my grammar sucks!
Thanks for the Link.Neo Kaiser wrote:http://www.consolecheatcodes.com/playst ... heats.html

It's not THAT obvious (at least to me). I went through the whole game and it wasn't until I saw my bro rerun the final stages that I noticed what the background could be.

Or maybe it's just that the series has always had entirely too many phallic objects ,so they figured they'd be blatant about it.Neo Kaiser wrote:It was very obvious. Maybe the author intended to say that the Bydo can read the minds of humans and that sex scene was a memory of the pilot or that simply because it was their last game they would do what they wanted to do.
So, I managed to complete R-Type Final (Euro PAL).
I played through all 5 variations of level 2, unlocked level 3.5, completed all 3 versions of level 6 which lead to the 3 alternative Bosses & endings and unlocked 22/99 ships (Including Lady Love ship).
But all 3 three endings are minimal.
1. After you beat the Bydo Boss in Stage F-A, it just shows your ship in a rotating camera inside a dark brown tunnel while the credits roll down.
2. Once you defeat R-9A Arrowhead Boss in Stage F-A, it only shows your ship flying away.
3. And finally after you complete Stage F-C ”Wherever”, it just says welcome to the 26th century!
I don't understand, was the pilot supposed to have traveled back in time from the 26th to the 22nd century to fight off the Bydo?
Weird and poorly scripted storyline!
Where is my cool FMV ending and nicely orchestrated epic music?
This is supposed to be their last game after all!

They omitted the final narrative text?ST Dragon wrote:So, I managed to complete R-Type Final (Euro PAL).

F-B had text.

....
Maybe it was a glitch.
I think I remember hearing there was a bug in that, and the ending only showed up if you were in the organic ship, not the metallic one.
F.A's ending stands alone, IMO. The ship is drifting, unpowered. Fried the R-* with the final attack, leaving the poor pilot unable to leave after saving humanity.
F.A and F.B both had rather somber endings.
I never beat F.C.
A. It's a shooter. Plot is not foremost in their minds.3. And finally after you complete Stage F-C ”Wherever”, it just says welcome to the 26th century!

B. It's quite possible. The date is right for lending a hand in game 1, and the Bydo got to the past via hyperspace too.
From there, relativity would let the pilot get home easily and reliably. Provided the R-series can accelerate to .99 C.
It's also a shooter. FMV endings are thankfully rare in them.Where is my cool FMV ending and nicely orchestrated epic music?

Though the end music was swapped in the US version for a Blue Man Group composition. Dunno what the Asia/Europe music was like.
IMO, the biggest problem remains the obscene slowdown(most notably in the battleship stage).
