I have no idea how. Sorry if it's a stupid question.

It helps a lot if you just RTFM.

F2 = Save Savestate
F3 = Pick Savestate Slot To Save/Load From
F4 = Load Savestate

If you save in game (not the same as saving a savestate), ZSNES will create a save file for that game and the game save should be selectable when you load the game again.

And of course there's also the menu in the GUI under game, and you can change all the save hot keys from config>saves.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

i just started using the snes emulator so sorry if this is stupid question
so if i f2 save the state then f3 and pick slot 0 , it should be saved in that exact place so if i completely close out of the emulator and then start it again by doing f4 and load it shold be in the same spot ?

It helps if you actually test it yourself first.

If it doesn't work, it is most likely because you have your ROMs and/or ZSNES on a CD.

I don't recall if it's on by default, but I think he wants "Start at latest save"

That option is not on by default.
