NSRT's Homepage is Missing

Post by Aaron »

Edgeemu seems to have been acquired by a domain sitter; where can NSRT be found now, if anywhere?

To your hosts file, at this point you may need to reset your browser, then you navigate to http://nsrt.edgeemu.com, this is not complicated.

Thanks. :S

I had to look a little bit for the 'hosts' file, so for those using Linux: /etc/hosts.

That's kind of ridiculous to expect all users to edit files on their computer to view a web page. If NSRT actually moved to a web page that worked using a new IP and a DNS entry found on Internet DNS servers around the world like every other page, it won't work anymore for the people who have edited their host file. And of course they won't know enough by themselves to remove the entry at that time. Then they'll come back here and make the same topics over again. Ugh.. the insanity.

So, Aaron, you will have to change your host file again if/when NSRT moves.

Can somebody please make a sticky topic for this? My brain is still pounding from the last 5 times people argued about it, and it's going to be asked over and over again.

This isn't an NSRT forum, so visitors can't be expected to search the board for NSRT problems before asking questions.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

Uh...

It's Edgeemu we're talking about, I don't actually have a server. Edgeemu has been on the same server for like 2 years, and hasn't renewed their domain this year yet. If I were to actually switch servers, it'd be a completely different URL.

Of course if the guy who runs Edgeemu and is giving me free hosting would get around to updating his domain, we wouldn't have to be having this stupid conversation, and posting all these hacks.

And in response to a sticky, fine, http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11155

Won't he lose it if he doesn't renew it in a certain amount of time? I'm concerned he's not going to be able to renew it. If it's an expired domain, it will soon be made available for others to purchase.

Yeah, if he doesn't renew soon, it's going to be a problem. Maybe I should start looking for another host.

Why not make a nsrt subforum here @ zsnes forums?

Certain happenings regarding new dumps probably wouldn't be wanted here.

Correct me if I'm wrong but NSRT never had links to ROMs anyway? New dumps infos and infos only (such as hash) were posted. So that should not be a problem(?)

a database is built into nsrt, you don't need what you ask for, unless your specifically talking about using hacks and stuff.

... just shut up.

Nach: we lack a "my brain broke reading this" Purple franpa alert.

@Y~K: some of the nsrt forums aren't compatible with this board's rules.
So we can't really import them here.
