Hi,

I have uploaded Regen 0.7 which should have been released 9 days ago. I have not tested it much, so if it works you should be doubly impressed  .

stay safe,

Whoa.

Lemmie try it out for a little bit, and I'll be back with feedback and update the bug/requests lists. :)

EDIT: Ok, besides the known PAR issues with some odd-numbered codes, and some codes with values, this release is the best ever so far. :D I've only noticed two things so far, and they're little. :)

-Trying to load a ROM from Load ROM when a game with cheats active causes the Load ROM load from the cheats folder, and not the ROMs folder. I think this can be fixed once and for all if there's a directory setting for ROMs. :)
-Loading a game while a game with cheats enabled causes the cheats to not unload when the new game is up. I think this can be fixed too if an Unload Cheats button is added. :)

Other than that, good release! :D I'll be going through the bugs/requests list now, and updating them. :)

EDIT 2: I updated the bugs/requests list here. Please tell me if I missed something, thanks. :)

EDIT 3: Found something. :)

-Clicking the Brighten menu without any games loaded causes the emulator to crash and exit.

Yeah, this is the best release so far! Just a little question about Animaniacs (U), though...On the first stage (not including the WB studio opening stage, the Jungle Level) when you get to the waterfall scene, the screen goes black but the music continues. I've noticed this on Kega Fusion, too. But my question is, s it an emulation bug or a corrupted ROM?

Ok, found a major sound issue. The intro to Vectorman sounds completely terrible and not like real hardware. Kega does it like the real hardware. :)

I tried the European version, and it didn't crash.

I did run into a strange issue, though. Pressing the jump button also switched characters. Is that normal?

Edit: Tried the US version too. Didn't crash. You got a bad dump.

The jump button issue was caused by a misconfiguration on my end.

Yea, I tried it too, and no crashes. :) Waterfall works perfectly.

EDIT: New issue.

-The key for Turbo Mode (Backspace) doesn't work.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Well, if you want to hear a worse rendition, try listening t the Window re-release of it (Sega Smash Pack..need I say more?) Keep in mind that I am NOT trying to hurt the author's feelings. He is making a tremendous effort towards Genesis emulation.

Indeed. Sega Smash Pack's version is really, really bad. It's kinda sad to see Sega utterly fail like that. Then again, Nintendo isn't doing any better on Wii's Virtual Console.

At least in Regen it's just appears to be the one channel that's off on the intro. The rest of it sounds fine to me. :)

At least Nintendo gets sound emulation right on the VC (unlike the Sega Smash Pack)...

Nintendo gets close on the VC. Hearing small Mario jump in Super Mario Bros. cringes my ears.

Regen 0.7 is great.
Though is a bit slower than Gens 2.1.4, but i thinks it more compatile emulator, since it can run: Assault Suits Leynos (J) [!], which Gens 2.1.4 can't run.

AamirM, thank you.

The sega smash pack PC editions were basically a modified version of Kgen/Kgen98, IIRC.

Hello, nice release. I tried it and I like it a lot.

I said this on another forum, but I noticed that Hue and Saturation control hasn't been implemented yet. When do you think it will be? Because I don't want to keep having to look at a pink Knuckles all the time.

A little savestate bug (okay, a somewhat big savestate/load bug) while I think that's it way awesome that load/save state features are waay more stable, there is one problem (in Sonic&Knuckles 2) when I load, I see this strange garbled screen Image Why does this happen? Not to mention I hear a high-pitched squealing sound.

Hi,

Sorry to all for the late reply. My ISP company had some problems so I didn't had internet connection for over two week. Now its fixed and I am back in business. But I did not waste my time. I have improved the YM2612 emulator to a level where it is as accurate as Kega! . I wil post a beta version of it here soon.

stay safe,

Hi,

You can download the Regen 0.77 beta from here. Notice the new "SuperHQ" mode. One needs a bit faster PC to run this. This is only for Pentium 4 and above right now. This may still have bugs related to DirectSound as I have rewritten major parts of it just today and did not gave it much testing. Do tell me how it goes and whether it fixes the sound problems. Please note that the DAC may be incorrect in some places. Do not consider it to be finished.

EDIT:
See the included readme for list of changes.

stay safe and enjoy,

So the svp code still have not update right now. :(
And I notice I am not the only one have problem with the message font system.
Well, this problem occurs to me only when I use 32bit(color)mode and regen normal rendering mode at the same time.

Do you use mean that you set your desktop depth to 32-bit? Do you select superfast rendering? and if not then which plugin?

Ya, the desktop depth. It works fine with superfast rendering in 32bit, and works fine with both rendering mode in 16bit desktop depth mode.
It doesn't matter whether u using any video plugin or not.

Well, that is strange. I'll see if I can reproduce the problem on some other PC. I'll post another font bitmap here later for you to test if it works.
