no, I don't think he have update the svp code.
About the picodrive, It is no doubtly the first genesis emu emulate svp and also the one emulate svp most correctly.

Your emulator is great
btw i found 2 problems:

1) Sonic 1: The screen sometimes flashes very quickly

2) The NTSC plugin is not working on kega (crash when load a game)

No problems here. Eidolon's Inn has been having problems lately, I'll probably post the latest Regen update there in a little bit, in addition to GSHI.

Hi,

I don't understand the Sonic problem. Could you please post a screenshot or video?

I posted a plugin for Kega without scanlines somwhere in these pages here. You have to find it yourself.

I actually have the filter you released a while ago, but there is a little problem. When used with no scanlines there are some parts where i can see then. The track in Super Monaco Gp is the best example (if i put 25% it displays like one scanline above the other) In Regen the filter works perfectly, but crashes with kega.

step:
  1. Set Desktop color to 32 bpp (naturaly, since 16 bit are glitch free)
  2. Run Gens
  3. Close Gens
  4. Run Regen, load any game
harmless
change desktop color before running Regen (0.77) also solve this

Hi,

I am posting Regen 0.8 beta. It is does not include any new features from
0.77 except that I have integrated the new timing code and event triggering
system in it which I have been working on. These new things will give Regen
cycle-accuracy while still running line-by-line. So you *can* say Regen is
running in semi cycle-accuracy. The performance hit is very less if there is any.
As far as I have tested, it does not break any game but fixes two games which
are Bram Stoker's Dracula and Wheel of Fortune. I am sure there may be other games
as well. The reason for writing these new features was that a user posted me
a small demo program (available from here) which ran on real Genesis but
incorrectly on Regen. This demo and the two games mentioned above require perfect
timings to run, especially the demo. Even Kega Fusion does not run this demo
correctly. I just go crazy when something is working on real Genesis
and not in Regen. Fixing the demo would break many timing sensitive games like
Sesame Street, Road Rash series, Sonic 3D bonus, 3 Ninjas Kick back,
Skitchen and some more. But with these new additions they all now
run perfect and the demo too. So you see, I am accurately insane for
accuracy. Now the reason for telling you people all this is that now
you have to test out this new system to see if it does not break any other
game and if you consider it being good enough to be released. You can get
the beta from here.
Note that its just the executable and is for Pentium 3 or above only so everybody
can use it. You need to download 0.77 and replace the exe with this one.
Any feedback on this is highly welcomed.

Sweet, the video and sound of "Hybrid Front"'s opening demo sync well in 0.8.
But I still hang at the opening demo of "Surging Aura" when I start a new game. This game is broken since regen 0.6.

This is a problem with the new Musashi core. Very strangely, if you open and close the debugger then the game will advance normally. This is very odd.

Now I see why regen couldn't read my old kega and gens sram files.
They store the data in different order.
if regen store data in sram like 00xx00yy, kega and gens store them like xx00yy00(different of Big Endian and Little Endian?).

Ok, found something for you to look into. Load this demo BIOS into Regen, and when the BIOS sets the bank switch to cart, then detects itself, bank switches back to BIOS ROM, it will cause Regen to silently crash and exit. :)

BIOS will be supported in version the release 0.8. So that ROM will work in next version.

BTW, The new timing and event system didn't show any bugs or broken games? Do you consider it good enough to be integrated?

Works good enough for me. Dracula's intro looks perfect, and Wheel Of Fortune works fine. :)

This isn't a bug, but it'd be kind of cool if your emulator had this feature. When you reset a real genesis for X-men 2 Clone wars it will change the character that starts in the first level. You'll notice that kega fusion starts with night crawler and regen starts with gambit. Up until this point no genesis emulator has done this correctly probably because it causes random behavior. I'm guessing it'd have to be disabled for netplay if it was added.

Edit: Just to clarify when the system powers on you always start with Psylocke. Then if you reset the system with the button on the system it would change the character you started with. If I'm wrong it's just because it's been so long since I've played the game.

Haha yeah, I used to play it at a friends house and noticed that it would do that whenever I went to reset the system. :)
