Some SPCs, like Earthbound and Tales of Phantasia seem to crash winamp. Why? I have no freakin clue. A little help?

Let me check that out; I'll remove them from the playlist and then re-upload them and see what happens. Maybe then I'll upload them...

Edit 8:29AM - weird. when I upload them, all the files are named "()" and have 0:00, but they work fine. Why do they display like that!?

Edit 8:35AM - Seems I have to rate all the files to "*****" and then they display. Why? Oh, and excellent work, BTW; sounds like the real hardware!

I strongly, strongly suspect that there's no titling fallback in case no tags were found on the files.

I was just gonna say, I think this should be implemented if at all possible.

By any chance, could the .RSN filetype be implemented, or is the source for that not available? In case you don't know, it's basically a whole SPC album list in one file.

---

What I'm betting is going on is that:

A) This plugin is using a tagging setup nobody else is using.

OR

B) The sets I have have messed tags.

"In case you don't know", it's just a solid RAR archive, durr.

...Why would they want to include unrar.dll? Eh.

My apologies (this is sarcasm) for assuming it was something similar to JMA, in order words a rarely used/custom compression format. Drop the attitude, it was a perfectly honest mistake.

Anyhow, it turns out that B was the correct answer. Neo, your SPCs have messed up tags/no tags. There's no fallback to use the filename as the song title if no tags are present.

If I may make a request, I think it'd be spiffy to make a custom formatting field option available if you could, mudlord. I don't think this plugin works with Winamp's default title formatter. I'm an odd one who doesn't like artist names on his music playlists. Even if it is God Soule.

Jeremy Soule is crazy as all fuck for not using ADSR at all for SoE's stuff.

... Also you edit your posts way too much.

.RSN would be nice to have, which is why my spc files crashed. Took me a million to realize that, so, I just redownloaded it and all my spc files work just fine.

Or you could have just extracted them from the archives.

Thank blargg for that. He is the one that made the cycle accurate SPC emulation core.
weird. when I upload them, all the files are named "()" and have 0:00, but they work fine. Why do they display like that!?
Because I didn't add custom file tag reading support yet, the plugin expects a default set of tags.

I found some code that makes unrar.dll obsolete. Funnily enough, its another of blargg's libraries. And it also has Zip/7-Zip support, too.

When I do the config options, I'll see what I can do.

already reported that on the last page. I also realized that rsn files crashed winamp, but realized this pretty much straight away :P

I thought I told you that all is well, it's just I have to have a bunch of files to click and drag. If there's no .rsn, support, that's okay. All my .spc files work.

After you get feature parity, might I recommend a box for View Menu?
Can you please elaborate for what exactly you mean?
Song loops forever (ignoring the time specified in the ID666 tag)
Fixed for next beta. Songs that have continuous loops, like NSFs, will loop for exactly 3 minutes, while others abide by the tags.

Would it at all be possible to make a song loop a desired number of times?

Great work so far!

for the .spc, afaik was to edit the ID666 Tags manually...
it would be great if that can be somewhat automatic, is such thing possible?

Looping the .spc files as many times as you want would indeed be a very useful feature to add.

Much easier than timing/tagging every track manually.

[Added] automatic subsong track end detection of silence in subsong based formats. The player will then move to the next subsong if silence occurs for around 2 seconds.
I hope you're using GME's built-in silence detection, which looks ahead for silence (up to 20 seconds for GBS), avoiding either a long pause at the end, or cutting songs off too early by only waiting for 2 seconds of silence (which several songs have). Just use gme_track_ended() to tell when a track has ended naturally or due to detection of silence.
