Proving you wrong, at least in terms of extra material. No one has said anything about what the graphics and music will be like in this version, but there will be more game. Which is always nice.

Couple that with the way they've been remaking the old FF games on the ds, and I'd say it's highly unlikely this will end up as a straight graphical port. This isn't the virtual console.

The DS is more than sufficient for what is needed to be done.

It doesn't quite explain why the crappy portable brick gets a port of FF1 with hires textures, but FF3 (NES) and FF4 have DS ports. It probably says more of what Squarenix thinks of the overrated Sony block or.. it's just that inferior.

Don't forget FF1 and FF2 were ports of the PS1 versions, which were enhancements of the GBA versions, which were enhancements of the Wonderswan versions.

3 and 4 are new remakes, and targeted at the most popular system around.

Personally, I'd rather see hyper-resprite than DS polygons, but... Squeenix doesn't care what I think

I guess it's supposed to get another dungeon and multiplayer battles but other than that, it's the same game. It's good, though, for people who didn't get a chance t play it on the SNES that don't use/know about emulators.
