Hello. I am thinking about trying bsnes on Yellow Dog Linux 6.0 for PS3. Is it known yet whether it will compile successfully on this platform and what performance is like?

If you have X, SDL, GTK, OpenGL, and g++, it should compile fine.
To my knowledge though, no one ever tried to on a system which has all that.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

You'd probably want to remove video.glx from the Unix makefile, as the PS3 lacks video acceleration. Hopefully it at least has an Xv scaling adapter present (run xvinfo to verify.) Otherwise, you'd disable video.xv as well, and rely on just SDL. That would be a painful experience.
