This news is almost as bad as the cellphone news.

I mean, why not fucking PS2? The thing still sells, bigger screen...

I have a PSP. I hate this filter.
And even if I didn't, I'd have the option of buying one if they translate this version of the game.

The fact is, the cellphone game was inherently J-only. There's simply not enough cellphone game market in America.

The PS2 is slowly dying, that's why. The PSP is still current. That simple.

Well, that and it's easier to develop for...

That would be AWESOME, but it won't happen.

I swear to god, Square-Enix and Konami keep tempting me with the PSP...

you should have gotten one but since you waited so long you'll probably end up with one that isn't hackable. at all.

There seems to be no practical way for Sony to disable the service battery feature, so they're all hackable. It's just a matter of how easy it is.

Well, they've already done their service battery change. It prevents new hardware from MAKING service batteries, but does nothing to stop them from reading it.

Unless they totally redesign the service setup, which they seem reluctant to do, they can't close that loophole.
And any changes will be equally as exploitable, unless they just remove service mode totally, which removes their ability to service them.

Yup, they're basically kind of fucked when it comes to that.

Besides, I'm sure those guys will find a new way to hack the PSP...
