doubt it
there's not much to update, anyway, except 16x9 and progressive.
the wii isn't that much stronger. at least not enough to warrant the extra work it would take.
and given nintendo's track record of re-releases, like the NES on GBA action, i doubt it even more

You already said you don't carry a GB currently, so YOU fail!odditude wrote:gb micro can't play metroid 2 either, so fail either way.Gil_Hamilton wrote:Trade your SP in for a GBMicro while you're at it?odditude wrote:if i trade my old ds in for this, then i'd be taking up extra room by carrying my sp around with me as well as the dsi.
Besides, your DS can't play Metroid 2, so you need a GameBoy anyways.
Yeah, the Wii is basically 2X the GC due to clockspeeds, much more RAM and some sort of minor enhancement ot the graphics chip(it's been measured, and as it turns out it's a little too big to just be a straight shrink of the GC's graphics chip. No one knows WTF they did to it.).sweener2001 wrote:doubt it

Overall, Cave Story on the Wii is a small graphical update.

That's not quite what that says.snkcube wrote:http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/prev ... rtid=16852
Overall, Cave Story on the Wii is a small graphical update.
In fact, all that DOES say is that it has new character designs(from the original creator), and a widescreen mode.
Also: no new weapons.
Those "new character designs" could be easily added to PC Cave Story by anyone, since the graphical data is stored in plain bitmaps.
Also; http://media.wii.ign.com/media/142/14287155/vids_1.html - New Quote looks pretty good I think.
Also 2; maybe this needs its own thread?

New weapons would:Gil_Hamilton wrote:Also: no new weapons.
1- need post-game subquests
2- break the game
3- be ridiculously powerful

choose two.
Also wow, what a shameless direct use of agtp's translated script. I sure hope they get credited. As if.
Plus, widescreen in hell ? holy fuck i'm so not there.

Don't forget Morphmation, for Yoshi's Island on the virtual Super NES.Gil_Hamilton wrote:They added Blast Processing to enable Genesis support in the Virtual Console.I.S.T. wrote:Yeah, the Wii is basically 2X the GC due to clockspeeds, much more RAM and some sort of minor enhancement ot the graphics chip(it's been measured, and as it turns out it's a little too big to just be a straight shrink of the GC's graphics chip. It's like the PSX was to the PS2: An upgraded model sold at a higher price, with the "old" model still being manufactured and sold.Franky wrote:Hold on a minute, I'm now under the impression (from reading a few comments here) that the DSi is actually a new console, not just a revision of the DS. Is it just a DS? Or is it a new console (like how the PS2 was a new console, and not just a revision of the PS1)?
I'm confused.

No one really knows about the DSi yet.
Nintendo didn't say anything either way about specs, beyond that the DSi has integrated save RAM and an SD slot.
It WILL play games that the DS is incapable of playing, since the DS has no access to the DSWare store and the DSi does. And it loses compatibility with DS accessories such as the rumble pack, Arkanoid spinner, and Guitar Hero button grip, as well as the ability to play GBA games or "link" DS and GBA games by inserting both at once(used in Pokemon and Castlevania, at least).
Make of that what you will.

I was just observing that they stated the new one has ten weapons, so there's no new gunseses. Or swordseses, or whipseses, or magicseses.grinvader wrote:New weapons would:Gil_Hamilton wrote:Also: no new weapons.
