Need help with my emulator
Ok, currently i'm running version 15.1, i've had this emulator for a long time and it's worked great for me until very recently, I've been having troubles with my laptop, and among them was my emulator.
When I try to run it, this is what i will get:
a black screen suggesting that the program is attempting to start, but the stop responding.
it's really frustrating cus this is a kick ass emulator, and i've been using it for years now, and now, not even redownloading it will fix it... please, if you know how i can fix this, let me know, your help is much appreciated

zinput.cfg
zmovie.cfg
zsnesw.cfg
Try zsnesw.cfg first, the others are probably not related to the problem.

I think i may have found the root of my problems:
Microsoft Outlook is taking possession of these files, this probably happened when I opened outlook by accident over the break.....
problem is, idk how to reverse this... I tried to tell it to open the files with Zsnesw, the attribute is there, but it still says it's an outlook file...
what can I do?

Next time... use thumbnails or links...
Microsoft Office isn't really taking possession, but they are associated.. which is not what you want, but it shouldn't impact anything.
On the other hand, you really do not want to associate the config files with ZSNES. Those files are opened automatically by ZSNES and suggesting to change the associations that way is not the way to go.
You should delete all three config files and see how that goes first.

Black screen -> alt+enter / set new mode.
Why the hell did noone mention that. Or point to the FAQ, since we got like a couple thousand "help me i got black screen when using zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator)" and put it there.

Tell him start -> run -> in the box type dxdiag.exe and click OK -> click YES to the dialogue about WHQL signatures -> look under the display tab and it should tell him detailed information about his video card (example: name, manufacturer, driver file, date of the drivers, etc etc etc.)
Type the name of the video card into Google and accompany it with drivers, example:
ATi Radeon Xpress 200m+drivers
and get drivers from the REPUTABLE source (eg: from the manufacturer's site)
All this being said maybe I need to upgrade my video card it's dated 4/1/2005

IIRC, laptop drivers should be located from your laptop manufacturer... and worst case, you would have to use NVidia's driver system for your specific model because those lists of supported hardware generally don't include laptops (that's laptop support in general).
