You're "a little" late, but ok.

Beats Geometry Wars anyday. IIRC, the developers (or rather, Microsoft) sent the Grid wars developer a C&D order and asked him to stop giving it out for free, because it violated their copyright or something.

whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

I can see where they could make that argument.

I know how old this game is. I'm not "late" as in just having found the game, if that's what you mean. It's just that I've been playing it again recently, and thought I'd tell you people about it.

Afterall, it's a great game.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or what, but again IIRC, Grid Wars was out before anyone had even heard of Geometry Wars.

I find Neon Wars has a better control scheme then Geometry Wars 2 :/

I had heard of this before but never bothered playing it then, I did now.
It's pretty fun. Reminds me of playing Phobia II, but that's because I haven't played a lot of arena shooters since then.

Geometry Wars is an unlockable minigame in the Project Gotham Racing 2 (in addition to now being available on XBLA), yes?

December 2005.

November 2005 for Retro Evolved, and 2003 for the original.

Make no mistake, it's not coincidence that Mark Incitti used graphics IDENTICAL to the ones Bizarre Creations used for Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.

Claiming that Bizarre Creations ripped off Grid Wars just means you're a raving Slashdot loon that hates anything related to Microsoft.

And it was Bizarre Creations that issued the takedown request, not Microsoft. Incitti's own page says so.
It also has a bunch of other games, almost all of which are clones of other games(in fact, ALL of them are prior to Grid Wars), so I'm not sure where anyone got the idea it was a unique work. Hell, I bet before he pulled it down, it said "aka Geometry Wars" like all his other clones.

Geometry Wars was an unlockable in PGR2.
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is available on Live. It's the original game(rebadged Geometry Wars Retro) AND a second game called Geometry Wars Evolved that's shinier and more fun.

Now, of course, there's also Geometry Wars: Galaxies. Which contains Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, but a crippled version that's only playable in Evolved mode.

And Geometry Wars: Waves in PGR4, also a play mode in Retro Evolved 2.

thread necrophilia

Speaking of Geometry Wars clones: Groov
http://thexboxdomain.com/2009/01/groov- ... ni-review/

In terms of pure shooting madness, it certainly can't compare to the likes of Geometry Wars but just for the "make your music by shooting" (kinda like GW meets Electroplankon) feature it certainly is worth the mere 200 points price tag.

It's a community game btw meaning you have to be connected to live in order to play which is a bit lame imo though.

Should I get Race Driver Grid or Call of Duty 5 World at War? I have a PS3 and some money for a game, there are 2 games that i would like but i only have the price for one. Race driver is £17.99 on play.com and COD5 is £33.99 on play.com's play trade. One of my friends has COD5 but none of my friends have Grid. which would be better to buy?
