.narfNET - The emulation mirror site

Post by lordmissus »

Hello,

I would like to introduce to you a personal site of mine.

Here is the main site:
http://narf.byethost16.com/index.html
And forums:
http://narf.byethost16.com/forums/index.php (please read the rules if deciding to register)

This is a site that caters mainly to emulation of videogame consoles. At this time of writing, I have sections written for:
- Bsnes
- SnesGT
- ZSNES
- Snes9X
- Nestopia
- Gambatte
- pSXfin
- Mednafen

Hope you guys like it. I'll be adding new content soon (i.e. within the next hour EDIT: changes added) so stay tuned!

(I advertise this site in my sig too, but thought I'd also post it here)

Cyber Knight

Officially, this game is only available in Japanese, but Aeon Genesis has an English translation patch for the game:

EDITED: (removed the image I linked to (no longer needed to show it here because the person who had a question is now satisfied))

Heh, gotta love the mixture of JPEG compression and my incredibly messy mouse-hand-writing.
You'll notice in that shot that the top character's name is censored out with a red bar; I did that because the name displayed is my real name (I tend to give games my real name when they ask me to name the main character).

The red text that you call a "secret" message says "(my real name was there)".

Well, I run KDE and Xfce on linux (depends on my mood), and in addition I dualboot with Windows (and always use the media-center theme). So I have 3 window-decorations in total.
I'm Linuxless at the moment though (I've gotten rid of Kubuntu Linux because I'm going to try Arch Linux soon).

You know, even though your site looks simple, I like it.. it brings back memories of how most emulation sites used to look like last century (meant positively) :)

I like to follow the KISS principle for things like this; a website that is easy to navigate, easy to read, easy to understand.

Complexity comes from content, not design.

I'm also enjoying the site, I don't have any use for it at the moment since I'm all set for emulators, but if I ever crash and burn out my computer again I'll probably swing by to pick my emulators again. Nothing like a nice one-stop for emulation.
I bring the trouble.

Awesome! The world would be a better place with more Archers.

I remember back in the day when threads like this were locked after 0.003 nanoseconds. Guess times have changed a lot!

I've used Arch Linux extensively in the past, so I know my way around.
I don't actually know why I left that wonderful distro.

Not much in the way of an update, but just for fun, I wrote a command-line version of that password generator in the "misc" section. I've uploaded it now.
