Taking Screenshots

Post by Chaoticjosh »

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I'd like to do a picture-based LP of an SNES game for my online community, but I don't know whether or not Zsnes has a built-in screenshot feature to make this easy.

Can someone point it out and tell me how it works if there is one?

Thanks, I didn't know, but where does it put the "snapshots" so that I can use them?

alongside either zsnes.exe or the place where your ROMs are located.

Thank you, thank you very much!

Now, this'll probably be my last question.

The screenshots I get from this process are okay, but they seem a tad small.

This is the size I'm getting them:

Can I make it so it gives me larger pictures?

I don't think so, as far as I know, if you want larger screenshots, you will need to use print+screen.

Resizing as appropriate in IrfanView is fine too
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Excuse me? I just looked that up, does that program resize the pictures quickly and easily so I can show them to my community for LP purposes?

Yes, it does. I've resized many pictures using that program.

Thank you!

I never knew about these utilities at all until I came here, and now I feel more capable.

This forum's help was very nice, thank you again.

i think you got lucky, considering the basic nature of the snapshot feature

but it's all gravy

Note that some games use the high-res graphics mode of the SNES (2x width), and/or interlace (2x height). The snapshot function in ZSNES will downsize these images, so in that case you'll need to use (Alt+)PrintScreen.

Miracles do happen sometimes, it seems.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

also you can upsize them with precompiled scalex and hqx binaries
or use XnView or Paint.NET for more resizing options (IrfanView is nice enough though as suggested)
