Major Members CRIA Sued by Estate of Jazz artist for Copyright Infringement

That suit has been expanded to include over $54 billion worth of unpaid licensing fees across all artists that have joined the suit.

Anyone who sues companies for "infringement" are either douchebags or idiots, or both. A little off topic, but still related since it has to do with stupid lawsuits, like that idiot Erik Estavillo? He's trying to sue Blizzard since WoW "made him have OCD, agoraphobia, panic disorder, depression, and Crohn's Disease". And the CRIA? Those losers can get emasculated for all I care.

Usually, yes, but in some cases, like Erik Estavillo, he just wants to make up fake lawsuits and get lots of money for being a moron.

His complaints are nothing to do with the part of your message I quoted, he complained about getting sick by the game not because it infringed on his rights.

Considering that most Canadian artists have been claiming that the CRIA has been cheating on them for years, this development is not surprising. The CRIA is a relict, and most artists (save maybe Nickelback) will be hoping that it is destroyed.
