Using a 37' LCD as a monitor, ZSNES won't run at all.

Post by anthonywilliams999 »

Every time I try to open ZSNES on my computer, while plugged into my tv, it wont work, it gives me some error message about improper initialization.
Anyone know any possible fixes? maybe re-downloading the program so that it tries to auto-fit to my screen resolution?

HELP!

I have a controller and I really want to play it on my T.V. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks EVERYONE!

and sorry if this is already covered on these boards, I searched for about a half hour and couldnt find anything. Thanks :D

please provide more information - what version of ZSNES, what OS on your computer, what hardware, and the exact error message.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

It takes too much video RAM to power a 37 foot television. If you don't mind pixels the size of golf balls you could try setting your resolution to something like 1920x1200, that might help.

(Cheap) HDTVs can be very picky about resolution and stuff. If I has VGA you can try that and it might be a bit more accepting, otherwise edit the config file and set it to the native resolution of the panel, although you may not be able to do that over hdmi/dvi on some particularly awful panels and be stuck with a scaled mode like 1280x720 or 1920x1080(i).
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae
