HDMI Audio Help

Post by Sferics »

I recently bought a 32" Vizio and connected it to my Inspiron 1525 via HDMI to HDMI cable. The video transfers fine, but I can't seem to get the audio to play on the television. After some googling, I found that some people that fixed this issue by changing their sound settings through the control panel (http://digiex.net/computing-section/gui ... vista.html). When I do this, however, the only device I can select is "SigmaTel Audio" - there is no HDMI option. Is there any additional drivers or software I need to install? Thanks in advance.

your computer (particularly, your graphics hardware) needs to specifically support audio output over hdmi.

what's your graphics chipset?
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

I actually just found this thread about an hour ago: http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-in ... 525-a.html

You were right, I needed to install new drivers for the graphics chipset. It works now. Thanks!
