the "\" button

the "\" button
i must vent this out.
recently my old keyboard died, the "Q", "A", "Z", "1", "~", Tab & Esc keys no-longer works, so i buy a new keyboard.
but.., the location of the "\" button on the new keyboard were diferent
its now located after the "," button; previously was after "=" button.
rant: i needs several minutes to re-adjust my typing reflects!
(ack, i forgot the check before buy, oh well...)
now i feel relieved that i have vent it out.
any opinion where most likely better/favorite location for the "\" button?

On a french keyb, antislash is alt-gr + '_', which is the '8' key for qwerty folks. 8 is shift + '_' for us, but less troubling thanks to numpad alternative.
And yes, it sucks a lot to type MS paths here.

German keyboard. { [ ] } \ are especially nice...
EDIT: "nice" as in "awkward".
@byuu: Years ago (when bsnes had no customizable keys) I'd sent you a pic of a keyboard that I thought was german, but it turned out it wasn't. :/

Yep, Azerty keyboards are not ideal when writing programmes: curly {} square [] and angled <> brackets are not easy to access.grinvader wrote:On a french keyb, antislash is alt-gr + '_', which is the '8' key for qwerty folks. 8 is shift + '_' for us, but less troubling thanks to numpad alternative.

So much easier on a UK keyboard.

Pic of the main part.
The rightmost part is identical to qwerty.

I really suck at Mexico's layout, maybe becuase I got so god damn used to Latin American's.Joe Camacho wrote:I wish my laptop keyboard had a spanish layout, most of the time I use accents and other symbols by hand memory, I don't really know where they are.
Also I mastered Alt+92 for backlashing your asses. \ (_*_)

I still prefer alt gr + '_', compared to the ctrl+shift+"u5c" needed for me to use my direct unicode input.MisterJones wrote:Also I mastered Alt+92 for backlashing your asses. \ (_*_)
