Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
i just finally got around to finishing up uncharted 2 over the weekend - every bit as good as people have said. i'd love to jump on 3 right away, but i've got a backlog of games to go through and by then, it might be a little cheaper
speaking of ps3's, though, mine locked up in the exact same spot twice during uncharted 2 - after the massive room fight at the end of chapter 25 (i did a second playthrough on hard). fortunately, it was just after a checkpoint; it reloaded fine both times. here's hoping it was just a quirk with my copy...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Some of my games tend to freeze lock up the entire console if I reload a checkpoint many times in fairly quick succession -- i.e. if I fail some mission over and over again, forcing the game to load a previous checkpoint many times. This happened with Batman: Arkham City most recently, and caused my game data to become corrupted.
This lock up isn't necessarily game specific, and tends to happen in games that use auto-save and checkpoints. Good thing it's not that common.

I guess I'm lucky then. It never froze on me after quick load successions.
How is the game for you? For me, it was very enjoyable, despite the rather short main story.

PSII, on my phone. Gaira just got dropped on Parma.
It's amazing how much more enjoyable grinding is at 4x speed.

DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu, Akai Katana Shin, and Ikaruga for me. More shoot 'em ups than anything.
Although... I am rather liking the new SplatterHouse on the 360.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Eh, I'm not much for sandboxed type games but will give it a try I played AA and thought it was just okay. The voice acting was great though. I most recently completed the new Driver San Francisco and Call of Jaurez Cartel, nothing new there. I will probably give AC and Skyrim a try next week, really really looking forward to Skyrim. I loved morrowind so much I just have to play Skyrim. Aside from that... I'm not really looking forward to any other games on the horizon except for Aliens Colonial Marines and the new Alan Wake (whenever that is). Heres hoping Aliens doesn't keep seeing delays...sweener2001 wrote:still in the pretty early game, but if you liked AA, you will love AC.Scarlett1RaS wrote:How was Arkham City?

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
just finished Uncharted 3. the ending was anticlimactic, and overall the game seemed far less polished than the first two (muddy ground textures in one area, multiple geometry gliches, several places where you're blocked by invisible walls).
finished PS II on my phone, forgot how nasty Dark Force was in that game. working on Shining in the Darkness now (apparently i'm on a Genesis kick).
about to fire up Arkham City for the first time...

You have to admit that they did a fine job with the sand in the game. Same with the fire effects.odditude wrote:just finished Uncharted 3. the ending was anticlimactic, and overall the game seemed far less polished than the first two (muddy ground textures in one area, multiple geometry gliches, several places where you're blocked by invisible walls).
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Uncharted 3 was great, although not quite as awesome as Uncharted 2. I wish that the final boss fight would have been more, I don't know, involving... but I don't think it was bad. The environmental effects are stunning, and overall a great ride. Love the cruise ship section.
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
it was fighting a brute with different animations and tighter timing, followed by a rehash of the shooting-the-sliding-guy-on-the-bridge segment except without the sliding (and therefore without any challenge).Agozer wrote:I wish that the final boss fight would have been more, I don't know, involving...
plus, no single-player unlockables or tweaks at all?
as a game by itself yeah, it's really good, but compared to the second one (especially since i JUST finally played through the second one two months ago)... i've gotta admit, i'm disappointed.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
desktop is packed and all that, so a ton of dungeons of dredmor in the meantime. other roguelikes haven't been able to keep me interested the way this one has. and yes, i know it's super simple compared to most others.
still fun. i'll probably even get the dlc for the extra skills. i mean, emomancy.

Having fun with Aliens: Infestation.
Individual marines acting as extra lives? Pretty brilliant.

Donkey Kong Junior remains the only game to expose Mario's dark side to the public.
He may've covered it up with his ill-gotten millions, but those of us who were there will never forget!
