Replaying Chrono Trigger and FF6 and after beating those 2, DS FF4. I've beaten both the J2e FF4 translation and the PSP Complete Collection FF4(I don't count TAY), but the DS version is completely different from what I've seen and HARD. I bet the last boss in FF4DS will completely obliterate me unless I'm ridiculously over-leveled.

Was wanting to get back into Final Fantasy 13, but slacked off on it.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - i'm about 2/3 of the way through. while the gameplay itself is pedestrian at times and there are horrendous framerate issues when they got a little too ambitious, the characterization is phenomenal.

Agreed.

The ending is just... weird. Well, it sort of makes sense, yet...

Been heavy into Diablo III lately. Once I embraced the AH, I was able to start having fun. Took my barb from normal to inferno. BL2 is on the plate, and I dropped the PvZ facebook game for getting too facebook game.

I regret choosing the 360 because of games like TLOU. I'm not even interested in FPS games or games like Gears, but at least I'll be able to play games like Lost Odyssey once I finally get around to buying it. I have a late 2007 360 so if I get the RROD, I'll either buy a PS3 or just wait for the PS4; XB1 doesn't interest me in the least and the required Kinect gimmick both creeps me out and I hate motion controls/gimmicks in general. $500 with weaker hardware VS $400 with more power/no required gimmick; it's a no-brainer for me.

Still playing CT and FF6, started FF4DS and I plan to replay Suikoden 2 after I finish the other 3. My username is based on a very strange character from the Suikoden series, and I really wish Konami would make another game in the series as good as 2. S2 is on the same level as FF6 imo; it's such a great game and if you don't own it, it's very easy to emulate. I'd recommend using PSXfin rather than EpsxE(if it runs perfectly, most shit does other than SOTN) because it's mostly a 2d game. I'm one of the few people that bought it in 1999 so I just play it on my PS2. It's a masterpiece that you need to play if you even kind of like JRPGs. I've played through it on EpsxE but PSXfin is more authentic, especially for 2d games. Shame SOTN is buggy on PSXfin.

There are translation issues, but they're not horrible enough to take away enjoyment. The cast, gameplay, and story are still fantastic. Those spell effects still look fucking cool.

EDIT: Suikoden 2 is fucked in PSXfin; use EpsxE.

But you'd have missed out on Earth Defense Force!

Steam Summer sale had me picking up quite a few DLCs that I was missing, so I'll be revisiting Skyrim, Dishonored and Tomb Raider. I picked up quite a few as well. Mark of the Ninja, Serious Sam 3, Borderlands 2 (at GMG, got some content on Steam), XCOM (at GMG, got the mission pack on Steam), Torchilight II, Hitman Absolution and Strike Suit Zero (bundle).

I'm actually playing Torchlight II right now. I should also make sure my consoles are still alive. Ni No Kuni isn't going to finish itself. I need to focus a little bit more on the main story to keep interested. They just drown you in those side quests at points.

EDF:IA wasn't near as fun as EDF3. Totally need EDF4 when it hits(and a Vita for EDF3P).

Never played any of the EDF games so I'll have a look at them sometime on youtube and see if they interest me.

Also Gil, I now agree with you that the RPGOne translation of FF6j is amateurish. I guess I didn't remember the issues the first time I played that version a few years ago because I was still getting stoned all the time, but playing it clear headed made the weird dialogue very apparent. Obvious issues are things like the sleep spell being "sleeper"(lol) and shit like that, and the dialogue doesn't feel nearly as natural as the GBA or original US translations. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it since it's a different way to play my 2nd favorite RPG, but yeah that trans. is fairly rough. My dream version of FF6 is the SNES version with the GBA translation. FF6 is too easy, so I used FF3usME to make the bosses tougher.

The J2e FF4 and Doctor L CT hacks not only feel natural, but are better than any official translations of those games available, even their respective DS versions.

Suikoden 1+2 REALLY need a digital release on PSN, VC, and XBLA. I have the original S2 disc but that game is ridiculously expensive to play outside of emulation. It's one of the best RPGs of all time imo and I absolutely love the secrets/rewards they added for people who beat Suikoden 1 and loaded their save file from it. A digital release with a better translation(for 2) would give people a chance to see how awesome those games are, especially 2. Fixed translation or not, they need to be released. Luca Blight is one of my favorite villains in gaming; he's a complete monster like Kefka and the fight with him is EPIC.

About Steam sales, unfortunately my graphics card is too shit to play any modern games, especially the big-budget games. I'll probably upgrade it in the next few months so I can enjoy "next-gen" games with better framerates & resolutions. I'll buy a PS4 in the next 3 years once the games are there. Plenty of games are only on consoles, especially Japanese releases.

EDIT(s): added some stuff/grammar

Cube World, which is still in alpha. Good luck buying it if you do enjoy the demo enough to want to remove the demo limits.

I really want to play Xenoblade Chronicles, but son of a whore that fucking game is expensive, even used/disc only. I wish there was at least a downloadable version or an HD "remaster" for the WiiU. Dolphin after upgrading my gfx card is my only bet in the near future.

Also, FF4DS is HARD compared to the original Japanese SNES version and infinitely harder than the PSP version in the complete collection. There's a part where a certain girl rejoins your party that's very different from the original, and the boss in that section wrecked my shit a few times before I got past it.
