You MUST be joking, aren't you?

No, I ment Some Emulators can run games from all the systems under their name, and who changed my topics name?

The oh-so-clever swear filter, which, by the way, never gets old.

ZSNES isn't a multi-system emulator and never will be.

You misspelled the emulator's name, that's why your topic title changed. Good job. :o

He misspelled it intentionally.

To answer his question, the NES and the SNES are two entirely different systems. They do share some similarities, but the NES was such a mess of game/region-specific hardware that it really requires it's own emulator to effectively manage it all. It would be a horrific mess to attempt mixing an NES emulator with an SNES emulator.

Nope, but I got some old forum threads laughing about it.

One even features Mina and Radio, back in 2001.

Yeah... Tried looking for it, without success.
Those threads must be uploaded, for great justice. :)

That was definitely good for a chuckle..

I don't even think the emulation scene has been around for 12 years. That dates us back to 1992.. I don't recall any CONSOLE emulators being around back then.. although I didn't get into emulation until 1996 so my knowledge of what came before me is limited.

However given the information available now(2004), you probably could code an emulator that does all systems pre current generation consoles in 12 years time. Although.. there really isn't much point at this time to do something like that.

Tieing all the current emulators together via a multi-console fontend is probably the best bet.

It's true that twelve years ago there wasn't much of anything for a SNES emulation 'scene'. I believe some NES work had begun by that point.

Generally, you can tell the status of the 'scene' by monitoring old usenet posts and the like.

I couldn't understand a thing REIROM was saying when I met him on irc. Well by meet I mean he poped in a channel I was idling on then he started to spew his crap and got banned in like 10 minutes. It was pretty freaking hilarious.. I guess he didn't take enough english lessons or something.
