Pocky & Rocky minor bug

Post by Stifu »

Hey... There's a graphic bug in the opening logo of the game, that says "Natsume"... See for yourself.

GoodSNES name: "Pocky & Rocky (U) [!]"

I'm using v1.42, of course.
This bug was already there in v1.36, so it's an old one... I never noticed it before though. O_o

I can't see anything buggy in that title.

Hmm, I get the same problem. I tried disabling the new GFX engine, but it didn't help. For some reason, I can't get NSRT to run so I had to use the rominfo.txt. I'm using 1.42 and my compy specs is in the tech forum.

Code: Select all

File: Pocky & Rocky (U).srm Header: Yes
POCKY ROCKY TYPE:NORMAL
INTERLEAVED:No BANK:Lo CHKSUM:OK
VIDEO:NTSC CRC32:2B0E7EA3 CRC32:3B94B032

Please elaborate.
I also notice you mention you're using 2 while the original poster did not mention 2.

Hm, alright.
ZSNES says the checksum is OK, and GoodSNES recognizes it as a "[!]" ROM, too...

*downloads NSRT and tries it out*

The CRC is probably enough, but I'll post everything just in case...

File: pockyr.smc
Name: POCKY ROCKY
Header: SWC
Interleaved: No
Type: Normal
Country: USA
ROM Speed: 200ns (SlowROM)
Checksum: Good 0xACFC
Company: Natsume
Bank: LoROM
SRAM: 0 Kb
ROM: 8 Mb
Video: NTSC
Revision: 1.0
CRC32: 2B0E7EA3

Screenshot

PS: The intro works fine with Snes9x.

Did this help at all ? o_O
Or got noted in the to-do list ?
No confirmation...

Anyway... I've found another bug, with "Parodius da! Shinwa kara Owarai he (J) [!].zip"... CRC: 876DFD97. (hope that's enough info...)
The Konami logo is corrupt, then the game will freeze right after.

You may want to check that the DMA regs are inited to $FF. The game turns on HDMA without setting any DMA regs, which causes scanlines to be intermittently turned on/off if you reset the DMA regs to $00.

Ok fixed in CVS, thanks for the heads up Overload. I was wondering if you know if HDMA is initalized this way too?
