patching roms for use on xbox

Post by slightly76 »

Hi,

Having stumbled over this site recently, I'm very excited about patching some games.

However, I play most of my snes stuff on my Xbox.

If I 'hard patch' the rom, will it still work on the xbox snes emus?

Thanks in advance,

It should still work on an XBox... Don't really see why it shouldn't, but, whatever.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Not a problem, glad to help, dude. 8)
Does it have a modchip, though?

If I was trying to play emulated games on my xbox it would have to have a mod chip.

Mod chips are illegal.

Therefore I'm not.

Honest.

^^^ LOL.

Modchips per se are not "that" illegal. Modchips when being used to play copyrighted material without the owner's permission, are illegal allright. Which is 90% of the cases. (Let's not start a war over this issue. Just posting my humble opinion.)

But I think it's better to prosecute drug sellers, terrorists and human traffickers than modchip sellers, don't you think?

No, no. Terrorists are fine to hunt down, but human traffickers aren't. Nope.

Yeah, but certain large corporations, who happen to "own" certain members of the government don't think so.

Not like you need a modchip to mess with the xbox's bios :)

Mod-chips like the DMS4 for PS2 comes empty without any data. You have to download it.

Certain? You mean virtually ALL.

Practically every seriously large multinational corporation doing some kind of manufacturing can be labelled human exploiters considering how they exploit the poor in impoverished countries to drive down costs. I'm still stunned that is legal. The fact that the U.S. government doesn't bring the hammer down on this is disgusting, though it'd be a diplomatic nightmare as far as I can tell.

As a matter of fact, I can. Highlighting and using the original SubSilver are the equivalent of a Lens of Truth. :D

EDIT: Actually, Agozer basically did it for me.
