NETPLAY PROBLEM
Ok, we've tried as hard as we can with this one, we each both have the latest version of zsnes ... but we still cant play, we used to be able to netplay fine on dial up .... but since both getting broadband connections we cant seem to connect ....
Both of our IP's are somewhere along the lines of
192.168.1.100
220.236.19.224
We both take turns in being the host, whoever the server is gets the "client found" message but the host still gets " waiting for client " and nothing will go further from there .... any help? thanks

Also have tried that, still wont create a connection, just in general .... when hooking the zsnes up to netplay ... doesnt it already have what IP your client should be logging into displayed somewhere on that connection screen ( at the bottom before confirming connection) ... i get 2 different IP's when comparing that IP to the www.whatismyipadress.com
one is the 192.168.x.xxx ( displayed by zsnes)
and the wwww.whatismyipadress.com displays 211.27.xxx.x
to get on the right track ... which of these is the correct one? We're both using broadband connections if this is a problem,
My DSL console model is a NB5 ADSL-2 MODEM ROUTER ... i dont like the sound of "router" .... sounds like some sort of security device is built into it

As Noxious Ninja said, 192.168.x.x is a private IP. whatever IP www.whatismyip.com gave you should be the correct one.
As for routers... fuck I forgot what it does, I need to go over my Cisco stuff again, but I will assure you, routers are supposed to be like firewalls.

<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Both of you have to uncheck it.Lowend_warthog wrote:just tried then ...... no luckJAPPsmash wrote:Try using TCP/IP by unchecking "Use UDP instead of TCP/IP"
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Hmm, that's a good link to include in the documentation...caffeine wrote:both of you should go to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/ and find out address.
One of you, whoever is planning on being the host, needs to pick up your router's instruction manual and forward port 7845 to your computer. That should take care of your little problem.

Yes. Read the Router Port Forwarding 101 thread. You forward the ports to your local machine (the IP address given by ZSNES) and give your friend your public IP address. Giving your local IP address with a router will not work unless you're behind the same router.
